WoW says otherwise.Because the fact that, in the day and age of globalized internet, this is one of the few games in which people can play with their friends all over the world, is an absolutely great thing.
Segregated servers in the age of globalized internet is as laughable as it gets. Not to mention inconvenient and plain obsolete.

Lol. The latency you get from distance is absolutely inconsequential in any MMORPG that's not very strongly action based (this isn't an FPS). I'm european and most of the times i play on american servers because it's idiotic to be segregated just with people from my nation or Europe (that talk a crapton of different languages anyway), not to mention getting what's usually a crappier service and delays.I could say the same for forced latency issues. I'm not saying there should not be the option of global servers if you want to put up with the latency, but they should give people the option to play regional too so they don't have to deal with the awful ping, compounded by SE's awful network coders.
Latency has never been a problem (as it isn't in this game actually), even in heavily PvP based games like warhammer online or dark age of camelot.
WoW (one of the most obsolete games on the market) says what?

Very serious. WoW is based on some of the most obsolete concept of the MMO field.
And pray tell, how would it defeat the point?
That's an absolutely arbitrary statement, and false considering that most non english speakers actually DO make an effort to speak english.

I forgot I have to spell everything out for you sometimes.
Eorzea isn't Spain, or France, it isn't New Zealand or Australia, it's just a game. And as such, you can't experience different cultures through it. And even if you can, you can only experience them in a really diluted way.

Sorry, but i can easily call bull on this. You don't experience different cultures only through places. You mostly experience them through interacting with *people*, which is exactly what you do in MMORPGs.I forgot I have to spell everything out for you sometimes.

(Hello!)(Party)(Can I have it?)
That's culture? Pretty much interacted with people from all over and not absorbed this culture you speak of. Either way, I doubt the majority care about experiencing someone elses culture through a video game. They'd rather play.
Yeah, by watching a lalafell perform a /cheer emote, I gain a nice insight into the nuances of middle eastern cultures.
Half the time I don't even know what countries people are from because all they do is talk about the same boring crap anyway. Everyone's the same, more or less. As far as it concerns an MMO, everyone is basically the same.
I'd rather interact with people with interesting personalities than with people whose personalities I can't understand due to language barriers.

FF is more about the journey and interesting people you meet along the way. It requires attention and dedication.
WoW is more about keeping it easy going, giving easy and instant gratification. Its pretty much like comparing house m.d. to american idol.

exactly WoW is a button with "oo shinies" on it, that people press to be instantly gratified by crap, because they aren't very intelligent.
