I honestly don't see the disadvantage of the "must be online always" thing. I never go offline, and no one i know ever goes offline. I don't see the problem. Internet is standard in most homes, if you don't have the internet, you generally aren't the video game type.

Xbox One has Titanfall. And PS4 has Warframe..

Oh wait.. PS4 Warframe looks worse than it does on my PC.

And PSN+ to play multiplayer, lol. xD

Its not that being online is hard for people, its the fact that YOU HAVE to be online. What if i dont want to be online? what if my internet goes down for some length of time? Or I move and have to wait to have internet set up? Why should my game console tell me when i can play it?

And its not just that you have to be online, you have to pay a monthly subscription to play offline games, that you are forced to be online for......

If you are ok with being told when you can play your game and how you can play your game, then that fine for you. It is not ok for me. I dont want to be told that I can only play my game when I have an internet connection, or play a game I bought only on one system. If I want to bring my game to a friends house, I have to bring my system with me. I cant lend games to friends or buy used copies later if I dont want to pay 60 bucks at release.

But hey, if you are okay with all that, buy a Xbox. I am not okay with any of that, so i wont be.

Primarily, I'm a PC player. But I have to say, for the first time in years, I'm actually going to buy a gaming console. And guess what? It's so not going to be xbox one. The PS4 has everything I want in a gaming console, and nothing of what I don't want. The Xone, well, it's practically the other way around. I know it will cost a pretty penny, but I must have this console.

    OR...

...(calls up brother)... Hey bro! I know what I want for Christmas!

A lot of people with consoles are also PC gamers. I own both an xbox 360, a PS2, and a high-end PC that lets me play anything on ultra, with pretty much 60fps to boot.

I don't always play my Xbox. When I play Xbox, it's usually a single-player game anyways.

Xbox One's 'always online' doesn't mean you need a persistent internet connection 24/7 to play online. All you need to do is log in once every 24 hours to the X1 servers, so the game can check to make sure your copy of the game is real and not pirated.

Some people get so butthurt over anti-piracy tactics, lawl

If you think its being butthurt to not want to jump through hoops to play a game I paid for, thats fine.

To me it comes down to choice, Xbox one gives you none, ps4 gives you complete choice. Thats why they will get my money and not M$.

As to what systems you own, not sure why that matters at all. but grats?

that's not true, well the PSN part it is, but the cost of the console is less than 400$, so they'll make money with every unit sold.

I'm perfectly fine with a console which is online 24-7. I like to see when my friends sign in on their Playstation, because i can ask them if they fancy a game of [insert random co-op game title here...].

The only downside is that, according to the E3 news, you will need a PS+ subscription for 5 dollars a month (if i've read that correctly) just to be able to play online. I play my games in single player mode, about 90% of the time. On the other side, i play MMO's on my PC... So, if i turn on my console, it will be on Saturday afternoon only. I think it's a waste of money to get a PS+ subscription, if you only play a game session online once a month (maybe even less).

Next to that, we still don't know what they mean exactly with "play online". For instance, if you play a Need for speed game which has several online features like leaderboards, will you need a PS+ subscription just so that you can use that feature (or perhaps send a picture of a fabulous drift through a corner)? Or does "play online" mean that you start a game lobby/session located on a dedicated server to which several players can connect and have a race/match/etc?

For now i'm gonna take it with a grain of salt. We'll how they plan to implement it. Heck, i can even ask Sony at the GamesCom this year.
