You do understand that there's no way to "vindicate" anything right?

A beta is not a free trial by definition. A beta is by definition a test of the game where beta testers are required to use their time to hunt for bugs and provide feedback, which means that we'll be providing Square Enix with a service.

A free trial is by definition free, which conflicts with the concept of providing Square Enix with a service.

Selling a beta as a free trial is disingenuous at best, and nothing anyone can say will change that.
