Oh ok so you can upgrade the digital to exsisting accounts just not the store bought one . thats what i ment i should have said that at the start. Tyvm Jillybean for the info.

If you order the PC version, you can't. If you order the PS3 version, you can. This has lead to the odd fact that some folk are ordering the PS3 version even though they don't own a PS3.

Just so there's no confusion, you must have a PS3 and a PSN account in order to register the code that comes with the PS3 version. If you don't have a PS3 or at the very least, know someone that has a PS3 you can use to create a PSN account on, you won't be able to register the code to your SE account.

Also Preordering the digital collector's edition and purchasing the "digital upgrade service" is not the same thing. In order to upgrade an existing account to collector's edition status, you must purchase the digital upgrade service. Preordering the digital version will just give you a code like the one that comes with the physical collector's edition and therefore won't work to upgrade an existing account.
