Ok, so my account is currently legacy with the original 1.0 Collector's Edition pre-order.

If I now pre-order a physical PS3 Collector's Edition (UK) from Amazon or the S-E Store when the pre-order goes up, should I then apply all the codes I get to my current S-E account (which I will have linked to my PSN account)? Does my S-E account now have to have two 'service accounts' (not sure what that is..)?

Will the pre-order, the ARR collector's items and the 1.0 items be available to all characters generated on my S-E account, or will they be split as pertinent between these two 'service accounts'?

Is the best course of action for me to pre-order both PC and PS3, applying one set of codes to my current service account and the other to a new service account, both under my S-E account?

With two service accounts active under one S-E account would I only be paying one subscription fee? If not, why not just have two completely independent S-E accounts?

Sorry for all the q.s. I is confused!

Because they did absolutely nothing to deserve it. Jumping on the bandwagon when it's easy and nice shouldn't give you perks that those that supported the game for years can't get.
To be honest, the world is full of special offers for "new customers only". Free flashlight. Free month of HBO. First month's rent free. Etc.

So I don't think SE is obliged to offer early access to those who won't otherwise get it, but it does seem like an odd exception. Unless there's some internal reason they can't offer it, it would be nice if they could. Pre-pay first subscription month to get pre-order bonuses?

Oh, one thing I noticed on the product page is that the Early Access codes are limited quantity.

Obliged? No. Would make sense? Yes

That's why there's a "Please" in the topic.

How many do you think will get a full second copy to get two collectibles and early access? I guarantee it's gonna be a negligible percentage.

Offer the same privileges as an upgrade to their account, and the money will roll in much higher quantities, because people will consider it like a DLC, and DLCs sell, a lot.

No one is asking SE to give anything for free. What I'm asking is to grant those privileges for a fee.
You can't get two collectibles. Usually with things like this..these items will be "Rare Ex" And you'll only be able to get one anyway...

You're right, sorry. It does seem like those are pre-order specific items.

It should probably be a separate upgrade, otherwise you'd get the aberration that those that already got the CE are cut out.

I understand the gripe- And why one wouldn't want to spend money on a full CE edition just to get the in game items that are offered. But as stated by another forum user, that 'fee' for the collector's edition IS the fee to get the items. To what I understand is your asking for a lower fee than the collector's edition to get the in game items or to 'qualify' as a pre order customer. Which for a company to do might I add on the business side is a pain, and hardly worth the effort vs cost.

But my question would be for you if these items /were/ offered at $10 less and ONLY the items, no game or anything else included.. would you still be willing to buy it?
    * Example: CE 60$
    *Items only 50$

I'm just curious is it the price that's causing for concern? Or just the fact that you'll get an extra game copy you won't use. I just don't see the point when Square Enix might value in game items at a high price if they know it's a high demand...

It's still /cheaper/ and a so called 'wavered fee' but I guess I still don't understand why not just buy another copy take the code, then be on your way.

(Regardless I'm personally fine with buying a full copy just for the items even though I know I will not use the new copy)

Only, we're not talking about the collector's edition. As a matter of fact upgrade to the collector's edition for a lower fee will be offered. it's been officially confirmed, so obviously this makes a lot more sense for SE that you'd think.

We're talking about preorder bonuses only, and the sense it makes is exactly the same. Those that will buy a second copy of a game they already own for the preorder bonuses, I can guarantee it, will be a negligible percentage.

On the other hand if SE offered an upgrade to preorder status for a reasonable fee, they'd get a much higher turnaround rate, resulting in making a lot more money.
