Not that I know of...the closest I can think of is WoW resetting talent points whenever they re-engineer talent trees for class balancing.

No other MMO (That I know of) is structured in such a way that you can do absolutely everything on one character. Games like WoW you are restricted to your one character. But recently they did allow you to re-roll the character for its race/faction and keep your equipment and quests completed.

Considering that races in FFXIV have a completely negligible difference stats-wise, I really don't see any reason for SE not to allow us to respec race, as long as it's a *one time* service done only when new races/genders are implemented.

I doubt it will be one time only. Theres always the option for paid changes like WoW does, everything except your class. And multiple times, just having to wait a few weeks if i can remember to change it again.

I'm sorry for not giving the time to find out where it was said. But I'm pretty sure in a post where they were talking about adding new character creation options a mod said they're going to be adding new stuff and Yoshida is looking into the idea of making it so we'll be able to change our characters.
