True enough, but then I gather they completely rewrote the server structure for ARR, so I wonder how much they'd care that it was out there. If they intended to sell off the rights to it, then it might bother them, but if it was being tossed on the scrapheap, they might be less concerned.

They could probably do a visual novel like bethesda did with mass effect on the PS3. Or... a strategy RPG version with just some cutscenes woven into the game. /shrugs depends how much SE would want to put into such a venture.

Yeah that kind of thing sounds like a lot more effort to do; ie requiring significant programming time. However, I guess it's the kind of thing we'd see on an ARR 20th Anniversary celebration project for Google Glass 4.0 or something in that distant future time...
