It wasn't really a mug. They called it a beaker. To be quite honest the travel mug was not cool nor useful, I used it once and once only because even with lid securely on it will leak everywhere.
I loved my FFXI map, used it constantly and still have it. I was so hyped to hear we would get a cloth map for XIV but unfortunately it was very small and the print was blurry. I would love to see a nice good quality map in the FFX|V 2.0 CE
Hopefully vanity slots will allow us to wear our CE lvl 1 gears more flexibly ^_^
Mine has become my sugar canister in the kitchen. Now THAT is a purpose it serves well.

IIRC, the certificate was part of the NA collector, while the mug and the map were from the european collector (which I have). Token, book and onion helm seem to be region-wide though.
Now I woner what was in the japanese CE...

Yeah, "travel mug" ("tumbler"): not so useful. I thought about using it as a pen & pencil cup, but never wanted to get liquid near it, especially with that leather(ish?) wrap.
I suppose it makes sense that SE wants to give v1 purchasers the same in-game items that ARR purchasers get (both standard and collector's editions), but I really don't expect anything else. If there are cool physical items with the ARR CE, I'll consider buying another.
The only thing I would ask SE is to consider making available a Meteor Survivor shirt (and maybe knee socks) for purchase, to anyone who registered v1.

P.S. The JP CE was similar to the EU one, but had an art book instead of a satiny/microfiber map. (info)
P.P.S. The cloth map I got with Pirates of the Caribbean Online pre-order was the best map. Printed on canvas, rolled in a plastic tube, numbered limited edition. Would love to see something like that again.

I find this to be more of a sign of a persons unpleasant traits moreso that what I was looking for. I have clarified my stance several times throughout the thread and even very recently (4 posts before yours on the same day), but since it seems people are getting the wrong impression I wish to clarify.Anyway I don't get this self entitlement crap people seem to feel just lately. You got what you paid for back then, if SE decide to give us guys the ARR CE In-game items I'd say we should be greatful tbh.
Expecting more than even that just cuz you bought the game way back when just shows your personal greed and self-entitlement issues tbh. And to be blunt, its not a pleasant trait to show the world!
Fist, here's that post,
To expand on this I was thinking more for the situation where there is one person in the house that plays and bought the CE from 1.0. Now ARR comes out and he would like some of the bonuses from that package too but has no need for the extra Reg code. It would be nice if people were provided an option where they could purchase a digital upgrade to get the digital extras contained in the CE or even an option where they could upgrade to the physical extras without the extra codes.Anyway, this was an old thread. I only wanted to do a quick update. All i was really hoping for is that Yoshi-P acknowledge the 1.0 CE owners, which he now has. I could care less what it is we get but its very nice to know he remembered us. Like most others, I will probably get a ARR CE for the PS3 for my son ho wants to play with me.
Thanks Yoshi!
I think people would be more than willing to pay a little extra for the new CE. If they did not decide to make any such offers I would not be bothered or upset. I do not feel entitled, I know I got what I payed for and I made use of it, I'm not eating an entire meal then complaining it was bad and asking for a new free meal. To continue that analogy I ate most of my meal then was told the chef has just updated the menu to include a desert with the meal I just purchased, I only want to upgrade my meal for the price of the desert and not have to buy the whole meal again just to get the desert. (what's with me and food analogies?)
As my above quoted post says, I will be purchasing the ARR CE anyway. This just means I wont have to steal my son's bonus item codes.![]()
1.0 CE was pretty lame. I'm not even using the security token that came with it because (surprisingly) my token from XI is still going strong, bought when they were first released. I don't even know what I did with the XIV token lol. I used to actually write in that journal thing about my progress in the game, but eventually stopped. The DVD was chock full of stuff already on youtube. It would have been nice to have something more useful.

The problem, and you're going to maybe keep having it, is we see the OP, don't check the date and think...WTH? they just said... I made a similar mistake myself (my bad). I know you tried to do the right thing, by necro-bumping and old tread on the same topic, but it happens so rarely that people handle things the proper way on these forums, that you confused us all :P. Which is why people keep replying back to your OP and not, your amended 'YAY!'I find this to be more of a sign of a persons unpleasant traits moreso that what I was looking for. I have clarified my stance several times throughout the thread and even very recently (4 posts before yours on the same day), but since it seems people are getting the wrong impression I wish to clarify.
Before this becomes a 'Well they should read the whole thing first... True, but it's a several page topic, and the only relevant news is in the last couple posts...so without a marker that says 'Start Here for current posts!' it's inevitable people keep commenting on the OP.
The OP edit might help, but it might confuse more too... /meh. It happens.

GUILTY!! Oops My bad alsoThe problem, and you're going to maybe keep having it, is we see the OP, don't check the date and think...WTH? they just said... I made a similar mistake myself (my bad). I read the first few pages without looking at the dates (oops) so never actually read your rectified responses in regards to your OP.I find this to be more of a sign of a persons unpleasant traits moreso that what I was looking for. For that I apologise!
Damn Necro-Bumps confusing my little Lala sized Brain.....

Being an NA player, I bought the CE for the security token and the in-game items (my journal remains pristine and unused). I had no idea how big a let-down the onion helm would be. I wore it for a while just out of stubbornness, LOL!
Honestly, what I really expect out of a CE nowadays is a security token, a soundtrack, and truly useful in-game items. I would like to see 1.0 CE holders get a unique in-game title or a minion, something that would further differentiate them from those with Legacy status or ARR CE holders.

The correct paradigm for the verb to pay is:
pay / paid / paid
That is all.
Common Sense is a language most misunderstood on the continent of the MMOForum

This goes to Kinseykinz too:
Thanks and sorry for the confusion, I realized i needed to update the OP, I hope in doing so i can save some confusion and even left the original version there for those prolific readers on our forums. I hope the edit makes things a little more clear. Sorry for the necro-bump but i hate making hundreds of threads for the same topic and just wanted to update this one. Thanks for reading!
