They are all translating the game huh? You have a source for that? Thought so.. I'm not crying, im just interested in what they have to say in the video. Being fed crumbs instead of the whole loaf of bread is just like I said, insulting.
Yep obviously I need a "source" to tell me that translators are translating the game.
LOL. You're very easily "insulted".I'm not crying, im just interested in what they have to say in the video. Being fed crumbs instead of the whole loaf of bread is just like I said, insulting.
You've been given the relevant data. Stop crying. They owe you nothing more.
Yall need to calm yourselves. He's right in that there's shit tons of localization going on, and that's not just translating. That's transcribing text and even culture differences and producing them in such a way that the readers of every target language can read through and understand what the flying H is going on. You think that producing a direct translation for something they already told you the contents of is high on their priority list? Or do you get your kicks from watching Okipuit awkwardly say 'hai!' lots and Yoshi-P mumble about player housing?
(For the record, I love these guys to death, but they don't exactly fit themselves out to be on that side of the camera. :P )
Greetings,
Apologies for not responding to this sooner - it's my fault that I haven't replied yet, and I'm sorry for the delay in posting. With the latest Letter from the Producer LIVE video, we had intended to forgo the release of English subtitles in an effort to get the Q&A summary posted much quicker after the stream had ended. As I'm sure you can all agree, that didn't exactly work out.
To give some insight into the process, we have multiple teams around the world that spend their time working on these efforts (for instance, the Community Teams in North America, Japan, and Europe and the FFXIV Localization team). Unfortunately, as I'm sure you're aware, the Beta Test is taking up quite a large chunk of those resources, which led to multiple delays in the posting of the Q&A summary. Initially we had hoped to get the summary up in nearly half the time, with everyone focused on it first and foremost, but things don't always go according to plan.
Again, I apologize for the delay in the Q&A summary being posted, and also for not being clear about our plan not to include subtitles.
Matt "Bayohne" Hilton - Community Team
Bayohne says that SE's translators are very busy translating for the beta testing.
And you have that analogy backwards. The Q&A is the bread. You're asking someone to translate the crumbs (the banter back & forth). Reinheart's live LIVE translation included some of the crumbs, fwiw.
So no english subs for the live letter V huh?
I understand, better use all the resources to make ARR the best product possible!
Thanks for addressing why it wasn't released. I'm sure all of us would rather having them busy getting the beta test and the final game out more than anything!!
I think we got the answer we wanted from the dev. I'm satisfied now that they are listening to us and recommend this thread be closed. It's accomplished what it set out to do. Now only time will tell. Peace.
Thank you Bayohne.Greetings,
