Current Plans for World Transfers

In that case it's a very good idea to have the transfer open for a long period of time as mentioned, I remember the last set of transfers and how very quickly the 'popular' worlds would fill up...

We wanted to briefly discuss the current plans for selecting new worlds and world transfers for A Realm Reborn. Once the global data centers are set up for A Realm Reborn, we are planning the following for world transfers.

• In the event that you don't complete the transfer procedure, you will be transferred to a pre-determined world.
• In the event you complete the transfer procedure, you can select from a list of worlds you can move to and will be transferred to the world of your choice.

In order to eliminate any concerns about being transferred to a world you didn’t want to move to or being separated from your friends, we will be keeping the transfer procedure open for a long period of time as well as making various announcements to ensure that everyone is aware and can go where they like.

For Beta Test phase 3, fundamentally we are planning to allow anyone who possesses a Square Enix Account to participate in testing, so it will be possible to make contact with your friends from within the game.

We will be preparing thorough details regarding this whole process so that there is no confusion, and will be announcing them at a later date.

They said "pre-determined world" so, I think you'll know (it won't be random). Though, I, like you, am standing by. This is my most obsessive topic (if it isn't obvious)!

Incorrect. "a pre-determined world". The servers we were on may be going away. The "default" world could be a JP-based server. Or possibly a server in the same region as our SE account.

It sounds that way, but the rep may have not included all possibilities. We'll find out more in plenty of time to panic, phone friends, eat/sleep/drink on it, and meet up in ARR to discuss the details while doing FATEs and dungeons and whatever else.

Last time they were cramming two v1.0 servers into one v1.0 server. This time we could have multiple servers to choose from, in every region, so there will be less "stress" (as the translators phrase it).

Sorry, no this isn't correct. If you do absolutely nothing, you won't be placed in a random world. Everyone that was on that world, who also did not transfer, will be moved to the same place together.

However, just to reiterate, don't worry - we will announce the full details when they are all finalized. I know you're all anxious and we're keenly aware of it being a very important point for everyone!

I do hope the team remembers the situation with the v1.0 server merge, where most of the servers were already full from the very start of the application process.

Many people had planned to move together, but couldn't get into the world they had agreed upon. It was not until much later in the application process when some worlds started to open up and things settled down... but the initial situation caused a lot of stress for the player base.

I trust that will not happen again. ^^

Specifically, I'll be looking to find out:

The "do nothing" people will be moved to the same place together.... but will they know exactly what world that will be (and therefore what region)? In other words, will the "do nothing" people know exactly what 2.0 World their 1.0 character will be placed on if they "do nothing"?

It may end up being a strategy to do nothing (for me at least, depending on the answer to the above question, and what my LS's want to do).

Further, for those who "do nothing" initially, will that transfer option still exist for them to use later (within the designated time frame, of course), if they decided later they do want to change servers?

In other words, is "doing nothing" taking your turn, or does it just skip your turn and you can come back to it later?
