You will do just fine with your specs.
Upgrade the GPU.
I say a 670 if you only intend to play at 1920x1080 or lower.
A 680 if you intend to play @ higher res.
If you play @ 1920x1080, a 670 vs a 680 are virtually identical.
I mean it.. They are like almost 100%, neck and neck.
Enjoy.

Expect to loose like 4-6% FPS using PCIE 2.0 vs 3.0
It is really not a huge deal imo.
