Don't worry man, 1 more day, you can do it! Until then; knit a hat, drink hot chocolate, try to find a r/l chocobo. Bake some cupcakes! Learn icelandic, do the harlem shake with a raw chicken on your head (don't forget the shades!)
Act in such a way that you treat humanity, whether in your own person or in the person of another, always at the same time as an end and never simply as a means
I'm surprised people are so optimistic about it. in other forums the reaction towards the PS3 footage is /disgusted.
bottom line is the PS3 is not strong enough to support this game. even if some of the screen tearing is resolved, that will remain a fact. there's no way the game will maintain a playable frame rate around a big boss with party members around.
even in the video, when there was a few NPCs around, it looked like the PS3 was about to crash at any moment.
I should call all the people who like to call people who are realistic, negative, to this thread. This is how someone who's negative tends to see things.
Is this a joke post?
It feels like a joke post.
I'm quite sure they know better than you how much optimization they can do. Thanks for your concern. That doesn't look 75% optimized to me.
besides, I don't know how much 'optimization' they can do.
they're trying to force a game onto 8-year-old hardware that simply can't handle it.
if the game is running like that in town areas, imagine the PS3 version in a big boss fight.
Wait till phase 3.
Test it yourself.
Come back and report the results.

@OP
It's easy to be a so-called expert from an arm chair and while this may sound harsh, you are nobody to tell them what they are capable of. Any such statements on your part are nothing more than baseless conjecture.

I'm not sure why I'm getting insulted. They have shown us footage of FFXIV-PS3 running at extremely low framerate. do you think the extra 25% optimization really change the final product much?
and the PS3 hardware's specs and what the console is capable of are well known by now
Cut it out with the "SE CAN DO NO WRONG" attitude, people... look at the evidence, they shouldn't be releasing FFXIV for PS3
Personally I've always found town areas to be the worst. Uldah with 300 ppl running around is a lot more laggy than a boss fight with 8..That doesn't look 75% optimized to me.

It's the same with a lot of games. ffxi whitegate would lag like crazy but dynamis and other stuff wouldnt ever be half as bad. eve lags like crazy when you enter certain systems. wow can be the same.
Whether i get it on ps3 or not i dunno. however i did apply for the ps3 beta so if i get into that i'll probably see if i think the ps3 version is worth it or not. but to pass judgement this early is crazy. hell if you look at the early footage of things like mgs4 years ago on the ps3 it looked horrendous but today is still considered one of the best graphically rich games on the ps3 and of the generation.
maybe the op is just pi***d that it wont be on xbox and have an if xbox cant have it neither can ps3 mentality. i unno
