I'll be the first person to disregard the PS3 in any way I can. However, making a judgement call this early, when they said it's not done and they know the problems and are working on them, is premature. Not to mention that to record PS3 Footage you have to use a camera, you can't capture it with something like Fraps.

Sounds like you really have no idea what you're talking about.

In fact, we had similar tearing and FPS issues in an earlier video of the Windows version that everyone jumped all over, yet now the game appears to be running smoothly on the Windows end of it.

PS3 is likely the same thing, they are aware of the issue, they are taking actions to fix it AND the PS3 beta isn't even the first or second phase.

It's not an 'SE can do no wrong' attitude, the frame rate is taking a hit because hi, it's not fully optimized.

Yes, because we saw the EXACT same change in the optimization of the PC version. The Windows videos that we saw a while back suffered from the exact same issues that we just saw with the PS3 version, and they have been corrected through the optimization.

Consoles run on a single hyperoptimized configuration, as opposed to the myriad of configurations on PC, which means that they can be juiced a lot more for power than a PC with the same specs.

Let's not even go into the fact that the PS3 has a completely different architecture, that alters performance quite masisvely as well.

The PS3 has been proven capable of running MMORPGs, and there's no reason to believe that FFXIV will be different.

The ps3 is a monster in its own right, it will never outperform a pc with higher end hardware. I think the only thing i read that Yoshi said about the ps3 was memory issues but that was it. This game is gonna run smoothly on the ps3 i have no doubt.
