Nah, I have no reason to define my legacy status or any reason to rub it in. I grew up many years ago. But I'm not here to debate with you. You choose to target me thinking I was non legacy. Now you have to try another approach. No sir you can have it. Good day.

Uhm, actually, I didn't "target" anyone, nor did I say whether or not i thought you had legacy - and the things I was talking about do not depend on whether or not the person reading it has legacy. So i really have no idea what you're going on about.

You say target as if you think I'm trying to prey upon somebody. I'm not. I'm simply participating in a discussion. I'm really not sure what your problem is. I wasn't with the forum near the very beginning of FFXIV, was the ship run tighter? I've seen old posts and it seems the same cancerous people and topics were always so lol.

Wondering if mods will be more exact once on release.

Chiming in late, just because this topic is still at the top and I havn't said anything yet.

There was plenty of notice before the period began when you had to have a 90 day total subscription, and there was plenty of notice before the last available day to join and still qualify.

I'm sorry, I know some people probably genuinely did not know, or forgot. But if anyone had the slightest inkling beforehand about it, I'm sorry, but we had warnings and if you really -were- around like you claim, you would have known, it was a pretty big deal.

To anyone that did not know about the legacy campaign, you will be able to enjoy the game come release too and I welcome you and the myriad players in the future ^^

Pretty sure SE repeatedly advertised, over a month in advance, of the day one would have to subscribe by in order to get 3 full months of subscription in before it's too late.

I got like 3-4 emails regarding this matter alone. Personally, I was eligible and got my status as soon as the campaign was announced, but this email blast was part of their newsletter - same email series that let people know about chocobos and shit.

So, the statements that SE didn't give a heads up until it was too late is bogus. It wasn't only emailed multiple times with an explicit date by which one had to subscribe to ensure Legacy, but it was included on the Lodestone, too.

I think for anyone who had a SE account you'd have been bugged a few times. Even when my account is active SE was telling me about and welcome backs and such.

Or anyone who spent time on the forums. Not that you needed it but there was a log in message to (but you'd already have a active subscription to see that one).

I feel all of this was good. My only gripe is that if you sticky a page with detailed information and then update the information else where (forums and such) you should most definitely add that information to your sticky.

They later did this, probably because of the other thread about this.

Its too late for any changes and getting Legacy anymore (literally beta is a few days away) - but I do feel like a select group of people were easily misunderstood or mislead because of that.

Things were a but more strict in some ways, but then again at release they were playing damage control. I made a post back then about what i felt made a game final fantasy and listed things from each installment i liked and didnt like and kinda shook my head at the direction of the series since the release of FFX. It was promptly deleted and i received an email and three hour suspension (by the time i realized I was suspended, the suspension was up).

Funny thing is, in the two years since i wrote that (i still have a copy) Yoshi-P has basically agreed with every thing i have said, Right up to the crystal tower, golden saucer, and extras that made exploring so much fun. i almost want to repost now but i dont want to get banned again.
