There is no difference between "hardcore" and "casual" gamers other than the amount of time that we put into the game. Discriminating against a player because of their time restraints should be frowned upon...

Actually there is a difference. The more "active" players want things that are different from the things that the "less active" players want. So if steps aren't taken to find a middle ground (which they haven't as of yet), then one side is going to be discriminated against.

I disagree. By and large most of the casual arguments refuse to give way to any sort of middle ground. Hell, I suggested that NM respawns be increased to 10 minutes instead of 3-5 min, and my throat was immediately pounced on. I'm not denying that there aren't hardcores that do the same thing, but their numbers are much smaller.

or maybe you're just not paying attention to any post thats not screaming vitriol, people have said the same things about hardcores not wanting to make concessions.

She talk like she casual and hate everything that would waste to much time but then again she here for hours at end dislikeing everything that is not casual or too her liking. she have to much time in her hands for being a causal person. She post here at any giving hours i don't think she even works but that none of my problem. Her point of view matter like eveyone else but when a person does not even play and dislike every idea she does not like that what get me in a mad mood.

Again, you're wrong. I'm "less active," as you say, but I want things to be difficult, just not a time sink. Your generalizations are only showing that YOU, as a player, do not want to find a middle ground. This isn't high school. There are no goths, emos, jocks, popular kids, nerds or ANYTHING. We are ALL gamers. There is nothing separating us other than how much time we can put into the game and our own personal opinions based off of past MMO experiences. Not all players with more time to waste want time sinks and not all players with only 4 hours a week to play want crap handed to them. Generalizations and discrimination will tear this community apart.

Infact if he still had a show i would submit this thread to it. I bet they get high ratings seeing gown men and woman fight over a video game beating the crap outa each other over it.

While I don't agree with everything that this thread was posted for.... It's quite apparent that this "flame war" is just you taking people who disagree as a personal attack on yourself... You're inciting quite a bit of the conflict yourself, and from an outside perspective, it seems like you're doing it deliberately... That right there is exactly how i fell myself, well said my good sir. I will not lie though looking back on FFXI i did have a lot of fun even with the ridiculous NM spawn times. I like the idea of a lottery spawn timer.

It need to be up becuase casual players need to understand that you not the only players who play games. Hardcore players need to understand that causal players don;'t have much time to play. If SE does not meet a middel ground with FFXIV then it's going to fail.

I try out rift they give 3days pass and let me tell you FFXIV is 10x easy then Rift. It's a big timesink from the bat the rift that happen at random the high level onces are hard and you really need to do what it say or you fail. But at the end it's a causal game and it's about zerging which i dislike. I play for hours and only got 12 and i was doing quest,rift, and some PVP which was pretty fun. i can say right now rift is little harder then wow for that matter.

FFXIV can be casual but right now it's a casual game that is a joke getting 1-20 within 1leve reset is not even fun. Not even wow with full boa you can get that quick to 20 so if wow is a causal game what the hell is ffxiv? we need something in the middle so both players can enjoy at the same time.

I hope SE understand we need casual and hardcore mix in together, When i start working i be causal player when i start school and work i be even more casual. When i get 1month off or get fire i become hardcore player and be wasting a lot of time within a game. doing a 30mins event over and over for 1year and it the same thing is not very fun i hope player can understand this. i think that one thing Kilta_Firelotus can't never understand.

so right now FFXIV is not fun boring even more casual then WoW and rift, there noting difficult about ffxiv and not challenging which all games need. a time sink is the point of the game but it can be fix so even casual and hardcore can both agree with and the few that don't well touch luck at least you can do them and there fun. one side is going to get hurt by the middel ground and players would say bi?? about it be at least a big % would enjoy and this game would be having a great start.
