I'd love to have a group that I could endgame with (never got with a reliable one), but I have yet to find a group of endgame people that weren't SUPER elitist and willing to help people that have never run the dungeons/bosses. Or one that doesn't harass me or treat others like crap. -_-

I quit FFXI because I hated relying on mass groups of people to get ANYTHING done. It was frustrating, and in the end I always got screwed over or left behind. It ends up turning into this weird, messed up popularity contest. I enjoyed FFXIV up till the end, because even as a WHM I was able to go out and solo and get something done on my own.

In the end I just play MMOs as I would Elder Scrolls games. I play for the story, for my own personal goals(exploration and killing stuff is fun), and with my boyfriend because everyone else is crazy.
Considering the fact that co-op games(that aren't FPS) are few and far between nowadays, it's the only way we can really play games together since he lives 6 hours away. FF online games are also the only MMOs he'll play. So... it makes perfect sense to me.
Bold made me lol.

Some people don't like the time syncs it is to wait for others. There is a lot of stand around time for sure. Then you always get the guy who didn't get their cosmo cleaner, or forgot to change their subjob or something like that where you have to wait some more.

TBH I'm ok with solo stuff for people who don't like group play, but I don't want them whining about how they can't get some awesome item because they don't like to group up. If you want something that is only obtainable by a group, then either deal with a group of people or go play an offline game by yourself.
