I wanted to try fish & chips when I was in London, but when walking up to the counter I already felt like I was about to throw up, so I ended up elsewhere

Depends where you go, generally fish and chips is pretty good aslong as they don't try to give you the stuff on the counter thats been there for like 4 hours lol

Can't remember where it was, last time I was in London was some 20 years ago

I do remember the ones I saw other people walking out with had grease practically dripping through the bottom of the paper and all that. Real old fashioned fish & chips some would argue I guess..

Well it was London so that doesn't surprise me based off the way this fine country is at the moment lol. As for the grease, I wouldn't eat that either... Probably best you left from the sound of it

You can't get good food or beer in London. *ducks*
Seriously, though, there are some great English/British meat-and-pastry and meat-and-potatoes foods (and vegetarian versions). And puddings.
