IMO, the sense of rewarding does not overcome the frustration from losing the claim caused by bug/latency/bot..all the factor that I cant control. Just my IMO, the timer dosnt not bother me either, in fact, I am only replying to OP at page one.
i think its a nice and fun way to make the new class specific gear available to everyone without just throwing it in our inventories. not too hard not to easy. i think its great!
That's why these types of fights should not be triggered by a claim battle - see other thread regarding dragon attacks a city and you get an opportunity to fight/be claimed by the HNM. That would make gear rare and special. Sitting around in the same place to claim a pop is just a tired gaming mechanic. I think we can be more inventive with how truly rare gear enters the game.Like I said earlier, would anyone give a damn about a Ridill if there was an opportunity to obtain it every 5 minutes? Much of the pleasure derived is from the knowledge that you have obtained a rare piece of gear or are participating in a fight against a rare mob. It cheapens the experience if you can fight a given NM whenever you wish.
The only way the limit the gear if most agree on this but sadly. There to many players who want to show of there gears and it seem to be the guys who are the mithra race to show off there kitty cat. I look at 3 fansite and that what race really want no limit on.I believe there will always be a cookie cutter gear set. If all gear has different stats then people will find the gear that has the best stats and everyone will start to wear that. The only way to fix this is to give people multiple styles of gear with the same stats on them, which I don't see them doing. Seriously they need to limit what we can wear a tiny bit, I hate people thinking gear doesn't matter, I have 390 mag defense, and some other thm shows up in all crafting gear and leeches our party and dies from magic damage, I lol and boot the person. Stuff like that. I can see those of us who want to wear gear that's right for our classes but still have more options.
Sadly the only reason players want it to show off high level gear but i hope they understand from now on everything going to be class lock i justh ope they start putting rank lock also.

We're all just giving our opinions here. However, some people think their view is the right view. It's just about personal preference, really.
I'm certainly openminded on the issue and would welcome something innovative. My biggest concern is potentially losing the competition of HNM. That was a big draw for me and quite a lot of people I know. I'd like to see that retained, whatever system is implemented. That's why these types of fights should not be triggered by a claim battle - see other thread regarding dragon attacks a city and you get an opportunity to fight/be claimed by the HNM. Honestly... do people want to spend their game days camping a r30 NM with their rank 50 for 24hrs per pop so they can take it away from a group of people at the right rank to make the encounter a little more fun for a low-drop rate item they probably have the means to obtain better than? Who do you think is going to wait 24hrs for an NM to spawn with you? youre all alone on that one.
I'd be surprised if anyone suggested a 24 hour timer on these NMs. We're not talking Serket here.Honestly... do people want to spend their game days camping a r30 NM with their rank 50 for 24hrs per pop so they can take it away from a group of people at the right rank to make the encounter a little more fun for a low-drop rate item they probably have the means to obtain better than? I have heard some suggestions for 24hr timers. its ridiculous.
That would be overkill. If it was me, I would have gone for the leaping lizzy pop conditions (where applicable). That's just me, though. Then again, I'm not losing sleep over these NMs. I'm more interested in endgame content and how that is implemented.
