thing i dont get people play a multiplayer game but want to solo and get the same rewards as people who lose sleep to get something.

Casual=people who want to have the best gear in game but only have 1 hour to play a week/wish they had time to get skill
Hardcore=people who have a lot of free time so they actually earn the best gear in the game/are the most skilled
    thats false,

casual people are the ones botting, poping in and out, and probly dont even play games but the think they should have everything that the people working there asses off have.
if you have 1 hour a week or very little time, why bother playing at all?
hardcore, want to play the game how it was ment to be played, be challenged, even fun to wipe cuz you know cuz you know your being challenged.

enough casual vs hardcore matter what casual say SE would also add hardcore stuff for us and add stuff for casual there not only pointing at one player base but all player base. This is not blizzard who only care about money

anyways here something for both casual and hardcore.

You know what I'm seeing from this thread is a huge sense of hardcore entitlement issues. I don't see a lot of drama from casuals, but there sure is a lot of hate coming from hardcores on all angles. I can't speak for everyone, but for myself, I go back and forth between not much time to play and sometimes a lot of time to play. I still consider myself a casual player though because of how I approach the game.

As I already said in this thread, it only makes sense that obtaining the very best should require a great deal of effort. I don't think that hard cores should be the only ones able to get it, but I do think they should be able to get it a lot faster than casuals.

I agree that hard cores have more skill than most casuals. They do after all dedicate a vast portion of their waking life to this game.

I also used to be quite a hard core player in my younger (and single) days. And I remember how playing all day for weeks on end would put me in a foul mood and make me get upset about things that, after I took a break for a little while, seemed trivial in retrospect.

My advice to your hard cores is to do the same. You are hurting yourselves and others by this extremist play attitude. Do yourselves a favor and take a break 100% from the game every few weeks for a few days. If you can't do that, then you're not just a hard core, you're an addict, in other words a slave to the game. You will benefit from the time off, enjoy the game more when you do play, and generally be more happy and balanced in life, and then the rest of us might be able to read these forums without being attacked simply because we want to enjoy a game that we aren't going to play for 80-120 hours a week.

What I don't understand here is casuals the terms goes under those that do not have as much time to play . . . doesn't mean they are bad players . . . . .

The secret here is not make something easy just make it accessible to those with out as much time. I play the game a lot 3-5 hours a day after work 3 times a week. Weekend i get in roughly 8 hours sat and sun. What does that classify me under?

The trick for SE is keep the content challenging and that allows people to actually do it. We don't need nm's or eventually HNM's with 24-72 hours spawn timers. Nm's can spawn more often, have lower drop rates and be harder to kill.

Let's take the new round of nm's that were added. at rank 50 are they hard heck no, all but cactus can be solo'd by most jobs. But take 3-4 players in and around rank 35 and then go take those guys on. The challenge is there its how we the players engage the content.

Challenge with accessibility is what needs to be the mantra. allow everyone to have the ability to engage the content but not to always have a successful go at it is where the balance needs to be struck. Not make it both hard to do and hard to reach. Yes add a quest chain we have to do sure ok that's fine. Make certain jobs necessary, and then a few open spots for any job/class ok I'll bite we need tanks dd's and mages. But i don't want to see min/maxed pt's to get super optimal performance where your super pt can be done 5 minutes before a normal pt. that would be so annoying.

oh yeah there's also boyfriends/girlfriends/spouses not liking when you play for hours and hours on end to get a piece of gear you want.

Actually, that's 100% false too. I've never botted, I play a ton, I don't want everything handed to me.

I don't consider myself hardcore, so I must be casual. I want challenge, I'm fine with spending time doing things, I'm fine with low drop rates. I desire challenging fights that require skill, don't get me wrong there. The biggest "hardcore" request I'm against is insanely high respawn times for NMs and such. Why not just make it hard enough that only a well-organized group can take it down, but make it widely available? That way even if it is possible to kill it at any given time, only the actual good players will be able to.

I don't want everything handed to me, I just don't want something to be completely unavailable to me to even attempt because I don't play 10+ hours a day.

This is what I'm hoping for to. Fights that are a challenge but not on insane spawn timers where it only caters to a few select people.
