...at misconstruing "we're leaving on the 10th for a week-long world media tour" with "we'll start simultaneously releasing information worldwide on the 10th" (nevermind international flight times and, you know, the fact that they LEAVE on the 10th)? yeah. sure.
No. I'm just trying to cheer the poor guy up after people snidely tore him down after misconstruing a somewhat vague note at the end of a blog post. None of us knew that he was leaving on the 10th, just that he'd, "be away from the office on a media tour that will pave the way for the beta test". It said jack crap about leaving on that date. Far as we knew before this post:
, he was leaving on the 9th and starting the "media tour" on the 10th. And that could have easily been missed as it was hidden in the "Please Yoshi-P, for the love of God take a breather after this so you don't kill yourself thread". And the more obvious post:
, didn't show up till 20 minutes after this thread. There was no reason to rip into him at all, and some posters where kind enough to direct him to the info without being overly passionate about it.
I mean, the guy comes in with some skepticism and curiosity and you come down on him like a pack of piranhas with responses like:
epic freak out. That's just unfair. Especially when you look at how simple the opening is. He's not predicting the end of the world. He's just discouraged. At worst he thinks beta will be delayed. I'm just trying to give the neophyte a little encouragement.you're even worse than i'd anticipated
Also "Expect the best but prepare for the worst." is a fantastic philosophy.
I, personally, didn't think it was called for to trash the poor guy. The only thing I said to him was to not worry, info was coming. That's all. I even admitted that I, too, was anxious for info. But ripping into him like coyotes on a double cheeseburger is a bit... harsh. Besides, truthfully we all feel the same way. We're here every day talking about this game because we want it so badly we can taste it. The OP's enthusiasm is totally understood imo.No. I'm just trying to cheer the poor guy up after people snidely tore him down after misconstruing a somewhat vague note at the end of a blog post. Oh no, you where fine. My focus was on others.I, personally, didn't think it was called for to trash the poor guy. The only thing I said to him was to not worry, info was coming. That's all. Are we going to play this silly old game all night or should we spare the board?
Maybe I could insult you with passive aggressive remarks like "Darling" and "Honeypot".
Perhaps a uplifting round of *actions* and tweenage colloquialisms to spicen it up.
