IMO an items worth should be closer to the amount you can vendor it for lol.

But thats just me.... everyone else probably wants at least 20x that much.

There was also gear on the vendors tha sold for quite rediculous amounts, like an iron cuirass would cost over 150k gil. Who in their right mind here would try to charge that much for that?

If you get into a situation where you could vendor an item for as much as it would sell on the AH, you're going to find that almost nobody is going to be selling that item on the AH or it's going to be extremely price jacked. People are going to vendor their crafted items, and then use the money to purchase the items that can't be made by players, or the very same kinds of items that they're getting price gouged on.

It's the equivalent of you burning a TV set, and then the US Treasury printing and handing you a bunch of new bills totaling $1000. It will eventually destroy the economy.
