How cute, you're so behind on American slang <3XD You're fine Vil! one of my old LS leaders was like F*** this and C*** that, it really killed my game experience so I grew to hate chat even more-so. I'm a pretty private person, I don't mind text chat but if I feel like I'm forced into a voice convo I get narked and I'd just much rather chill on my own unless it's with an exceptionally cool bunch of people... and even then not too often D: lol.
For events/dungeons where it can be necessary then sure, but as soon as that event is over I am G-to-the-one.
I hear ya though..while I'm not too shy about getting on and talking..I have been self conscious about the way I've sounded for years ._.;
I also live alone, so I am used to long hours of silence. When I'm in a group of people, I tend to overfocus and try to process what everyone's saying at the same time, and after awhile it becomes overwhelming and I get annoyed and have to step away from it all. I'm the same way irl; its the reason I don't really care for the party scene or social gatherings that last throughout the night lol.

I feel you 100% on the rest of what you say XD I wouldn't say I'm reclusive irl but I do LOVE my own space. I'm alone for most of the day working, husband comes home and that's the general amount of social interaction I get. Much more than that and I get all flustered XD
I can do the social thing, but it's just so much easier not to. haha.
Parties are over-rated anyhow!!![]()

Personally I feel voice chat can be much more than just a tool for raiding. It can enhance the gameplay and make it more fun, my linkshell and I had a lot of great timers on voice chat and were able to make boring parts of the game fun. For example, we all grouped up and power leveled each others relics for spiritbond stage. We had a ton of fun, most people enjoyed being on our mumble and well lets just say we have a looooooot of inside jokes. I totally get where ppl coming from tho with too many people speaking or annoying ppl that won't shut up. But if it is comprised of the right people it can enhance the experience. At least for me. Defiantly one of the reasons I love my linkshell so much.

I agree that with the right people it makes it awesome, it's just -so- hard sometimes to find the right group lolPersonally I feel voice chat chat be much more than just a tool for raiding. I tried it once in Warhammer, but since English isn't my native language, I have a pretty difficult time to follow everything.
And I find it hard to talk in English, I prefer to read and type.
I also use it with family in games as minecraft, but I even dislike to talk to family. My husband always talks with the rest of the family, I am mostly silent and just listen.
I can understand it is an advance in battles, but then you need to be able to follow the conversation. I lose my concentration ingame when I try to figure out what everyone is saying. So it just doesn't work for me.
So for me it would be no microphone at all, not with friends, or strangers, I prefer chat.
I prefer to use my mic because It's hard reading the chat and sometimes I prefer to relax my eyes abit and just watch the pretty color. Skype/Mumble/TS/Vent all help me do this.
Plus I am told that I have hilarious commentary sometimes so that's a plus. >.>

I've always been introverted, so I never really do well in social chats, but for the most part I manage.
I agree, it can enhance the experience, so long as you already have that level of friendship established. There are some linkshells that only do hardcore raiding, and don't really care for social interaction outside of that.Personally I feel voice chat chat be much more than just a tool for raiding. With my linkshell, I'm glad we can all be friendly and still do events. I remember specifically one night we were doing To Kill a Raven, and half my party was drunk/stoned, so obviously we weren't gonna win...but it was funny hearing the comments as we fought anyway. "My healing skillzzz are soooo awesome right nowwww" "Hey,I meant to run the other way to avoid his laser!"
And of course, inbetween failed runs, we synced firedancing like bawwses.
