I think some of the great ideas from FFXI would work nicely here, <call12> included.

I sometimes miss things in the chat log, so yes please!

Aww I don't remember that feature ; ;. I only played for like the first month or two after release... then I got to cap and it was really boring><. Did they add that later? Or am I completely derped and missed it altogether? haha
Act in such a way that you treat humanity, whether in your own person or in the person of another, always at the same time as an end and never simply as a means

I'm sure that if you need to <call> somebody you can use your cell phone and/or send a text.
I'm okay with <call> if it's party leader only. I got so tired of people putting calls in every single macro in XI.

eh how about a lets not and say we did with those damn calls. I remember quite a few times my ear drums would be busted because of how damn loud it was when i had all sounds turned off and didn't have my music playing would scare the shit out of me when it was silent and piss my family off when I didn't have headphones
I have a secret to tell. From my electrical well. It's a simple message and I'm leaving out the whistles and bells. So the room must listen to me Filibuster vigilantly. My name is blue canary one note* spelled l-i-t-e. My story's infinite Like the Longines Symphonette it doesn't rest- TMBG Birdhouse in your Soul
A huge THANK YOU!!!! For FINALLY selling the Meteor Survivor Polo on the store. AND a huge thanks to my friend who bought it for me while he was at Fan Fest!!! YES I finally have my POLO!!!

As many others said, I don't think <call#> is needed.
There are other much more effective ways in making sure everyone is ready for content. If someone is not there for a long time, there is a pretty good reason for it and "calling" him would be pointless. Also, you'd want to get a replacement for that person anyway.
So, no thanks.
A /readycheck or /away <message> would be more effective and less disturbing.
If call get implemented, it definitely need a turn off option in the sound menu (I want to enjoy the music, not a whistle chorale).
LOL cash shop! SE's way to tell their player how they appreciate them... pull the carrot and empty your pockets $$$
And to those who support it: you are kicking yourselves. -- We just need to sit back and laugh at people with cash shop items.
(Marvelous economics IQ test!)

There is a solution for those that are against this. Since you don't want it, be prepare to be dropped from the party and be replaced if you don't answer to the chat log. "/p Are you there?" "/t Are you there?". /p Why did she/he go away and didn't say anything?. In the meantime, the party member is in his/her fifth dream, dreaming that he/she is curing the tank...
Back in the world of the awake /p Oh man, now we have to wait again and reassemble the party, because our whm decided to fall asleep on his keyboard. Great!!!
/p I wish we could have <call>.
How many times did this happen to some us?
The way ARR sounds like it is being designed compared to XI, the call feature really wont be necessary, also considering they are implementing a ready check, it will make call more of an annoyance then a useful feature.
