Honestly in my experience, call was only used to make sure everyone was present for a NM/ quest event...It should be limited to Party leaders if it's implemented.

If this was in game I would do it all the time for fun.

I'd welcome it with the option to turn off <call> sounds in the config. There were many times in XI where people would put <call1> into their provoke macro and the last thing I want to listen to when I play is a shrill whistle every 30seconds because omglookittheninjahepushedededabutton!

Every macro, every action, all the time!
CALL!
But seriously.
Not needed.

Why does everyone talk about people falling asleep? (has fallen asleep)
Drowsy players play like crap anyway? If you're falling asleep playing maybe you should try again the next day. Jus' sayin'.

Vote no on /call.
Vote yes on /readycheck.
* The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.

I loved the readycheck in WoW and SWTOR (Well, SWTOR didn't 'really' have it, it was more for the conversational side of things XD but yeah...)
I also second what Hiir says, no point in dragging a half-dead healer with you, it's better to just try again another time, or disaster awaaaaits!
