I would find it totally acceptible if they ninja change the Archer class into the musician class so every keeps their level, change the main weapon, and make a new archer class that will become ranger.

Like I said, there's still scope for a proper DD ranged class =) Oh! And I forgot Musketeer, too! Might come sooner than we think.
I hope the changes in 2.0 DO make it more BRDy. To be honest, the songs were pretty "meh". They won't change it's class, though, especially since they've already incorporated the ARC into Alpha and Beta.
