An MMO does not imply constant forced grouping.

A MMO does not imply only solo outside dungeons/endgame. And you are right it does not imply FORCED grouping, but it does imply grouping. That is the main part of a mmo.

Nobody is forcing you to solo outside of dungeons and endgame. I have no idea what you are getting at.

That I understand. What I don't understand is players who have such an aversion to doing things with others that they perceive the necessity of groups during certain points being detrimental to the actual game itself. An MMO implies interaction with other players. If you want to solo exp, solo quests and do everything else alone it seems pointless to me to play an MMO. In my experiences people talk about most the things they did with others. No one ever goes, "Yeah, I soloed everything and had a blast!".

All I'm saying is you seem to demonize party play and I can't imagine what someone gets out of experiencing so much content alone. You said an MMO doesn't imply constantly teaming up with others, but honestly speaking isn't that the point? The intro to the game doesn't feature the hero slaying monsters and experiencing the lore on his own.

I don't have an aversion to playing with people, and I do plan on solo questing.

I have an aversion to people who are anti-solo-questing, as you can see by the two that I've linked earlier in the topic. I have never once asked that grinding be removed from the game, or that dungeons be made solo-able, or that end-game raids be made solo-able.

But there have been people who have asked for this game to offer no solo options.

I read both of those when you originally linked and went back and read them again. Besides being a bit muddled in poorly written posts, neither of them say what you think they're saying. Neither post says to remove solo options, but that they prefer to party in their MMO experience. Some players develop poor excuses for reasonings against there being group activity (ie: having only 30 mins to play).

Personally speaking, I believe players should be playing the game together and that solo quests should be an option for times went you want to do your own thing. The problem is that too many players become islands when all they do is solo. When we're all own little islands and don't interact/party with others, the game really does suffer.

My fix? Just make partying more worth people's effort and time but don't nerf soloing.

ON this point I will agree with you. The people who are anti-solo questing are just as much of the problem as the anti-grouping people.
