Mine 'ad th' good ol' Limsa 'abit o' 'avin copious 'postrophes. It's like a bloody game o' Wheel o' Fortune!Ahhh yes... our Path Companions. Mine is likely to give me a long sarcastic speech about abandonment when next we meet.
I had the witty female Lalafell Shantotto build and it'll be great to eventually get them back so we can upgrade their gear and level them up (hopefully) like we could with our FFXI NPC Fellows.
They said path companion are gone but they be redo the system to allow them to be use in party like how FFXI had npc you could summon.

I -really- miss my XI fellow Fhig. I did sooo much with her, worked really hard and managed to get her to 65. She was amazingly helpful and I loved that we could chat. The quest line with it was pretty great and eventually a NPC allowed us to buy gear, jobs, attitudes, headpeices, weapons and even wedding attire for the time I spent summoning her out. I would be the happiest cat in the whole wide world if I could have this NPC fellow back in my game.

Ah, but will facing north-by-northeast at 2:45 a.m. while the moon is a waning crescent result in a 27% increase in your chances to synthesize HQ mythril ingots!? That is real the question! ~Fernehalwes~
I miss Liabelle, my naive female Elvaan companion as well. While there's not much that I remember fondly from FFXI, fighting against her in the Clash of the Comrades quest was one of the few exceptions. Duelle the Red Mage vs Liabelle the Red Mage was fun.I -really- miss my XI fellow Fhig. I did sooo much with her, worked really hard and managed to get her to 65. If I were to assign customization options, I would definitely go the route of classes, a LOT more face options for companions as well as hair options. Rather than random reload intro screens like what was done with path companions in 1.0, I'd make the quest revolving around a crime scene and having someone "sketching" a suspect description (could even make it a Hyldibrand quest while we're at it), which then is used to create your path companion/adventuring fellow.
* The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
