You know, I've thought many things about the various incarnations of Shiva over the years but this isn't really something I ever thought lol

lol my friend calling shiva a slut kinda rubbed off on me lol, but the FF 10 was one of my favs just because she was like "Bitch hold my scarf(or cape)" Then yuna holds it. I just don't like super skinny girls why i hate the cat girls models. Elzeen are da best.

Yeah, the FFTA version is very stylish and militaristic


For some reason, I like the FFIX version now, though I didn't back at the release. Her design is a nod to her Hindu roots.




For a long time, the FFVIII version was my favorite though. Ice spirit, with a bit of 'mermaid', I guess.


As far as the rest...

FFX - A solid design - the 'new classic' look for most people I suppose.
FFXIII - I hated the motorcycle transformer thing
FFXII - even as an imperial airship, she seemed less offensive than her FFXIII version.
FF4/5/6/T - the standard, old-school look
FF type-0 - Interesting, and different - I need to play the game to really form an opinion.

Based on concept art alone? The FFXIV version is the clear winner in my book. The ice queen definitely looks her part now.

Every summon is re-imagined for each final fantasy to some extent this one is no different. They have gone out of their way to make sure of this. Personally my favorite version of Shiva was from 10 with the dreds <3. People need to stop asking for reruns of the old stuff from past games. Think about it ... If Shiva was the exact same from FF1 to now you would be more than sick of looking at her and I'm sure she will be appearing a few more titles to come. Take it for what it is you either like it or you don't because at this point I really don't see them changing anything major on the models other than the colors. Nit picking Shiva cause you think she gives off the wrong vibe is crazy to me, Especially when it's not a finished product.

There is no template of Shiva or any of the Primals FFXIV's, Ifrit doesn't look anything like FFVII's same goes for the rest in every single game . what you are doing is insulting FFXIV's artist on his take of the Primals

That's an interesting take. I hadn't seen that since I don't do the whole handheld thing. However I still love FFX Shiva. Even so thanks for linking it

I don't want people to get me wrong, I'm not saying "OMG SHE SUCKS AND SHE SHOULD BE CHANGED!" I was only commenting completely out of context what I thought of her so please keep that in mind. As I do know once textures/animations/plopped in the environment/ music etc.. will really help set the mood and attitude of her. I'm simply commenting on the concept and current design.

In this case she chooses to appear older and experienced, having led her minions in battle countless times with unwavering fortitude and grace. FFTA does a better job of showing her regal side, but you can't deny her poise in the XIV version.

If in other (friendlier) iterations she looks younger/sexier, that's her choice. I like your comment on FF8's looking mermaid-esque, too. Not saying it's the same Shiva that shows up in every game, but as etherial beings they can choose to represent themselves as they wish.

I would like the point out that, while Ifrit's design is great, it does break tradition in that his horns are pointed forward and not backward. When I first saw him in FFIV I thought he was a demon bunny because of his backward horns.

Me too Firon! I am def changing race...cat girls are way too skinny for my tastes lol. They're cute and stuff just...yeah...>.> FFX Shiva was awesome..she had the coolest hair and outfit!
