Do you mean to tell me Lalafell are BORN adult size? Do newbown lalafell just shed their parent like a cicada? I assume that bit of lore applies to the inability to tell if the Lalafell is 18 or 75. Not a CHILD vs. an adult.

I think you're putting words into my mouth. All I did was post what was officially stated by SE themselves on the subject - and hence, my interpretation of that. I didn't say that lalafell are born as mature as they'd ever be - I thought it should be fairly obvious that they'd be born as a infant like any other race, mature as normal and then their appearance would freeze at the 10 year mark - obviously I was mistaken.

I'm sorry if it seems like I'm having a go at you, as it was not my intention. I just thought this needed clarifying, as you're obviously very passionate about this.

The Miqote race looks teenageish enough.

On the subject of child lalafell's, there was Child Taru's in XI... just need something that's noticably smaller from adult Lalafells.

On the note of Miqotes look teenagerish, i think it would be kinda cool if they had grey hair effect added to them to show age, kinda like a touch of grey, not full blown grey, that can be added to any fur color/design.

This is kind of a funny topic, but I do agree. Lalafells all look the same no matter what age.

I think at least for Roegadyn the lack of children was due to a lack of women to bear them. Most of them were still on their home continent (in the northern seas, iirc.) The same goes for Manqo'te.

As for Lalafell not aging physically... are we to assume all Eorzean races are mammals and give live birth? How does one Lalafell fit inside another Lalafell during pregnancy if they're the same size? Maybe they do a full-body split, like single-cell organisms.

Edit: Saw someone above had the same idea about Mitosis. Punainen's idea of shedding the parent is funny, too, but that goes in line with the Galka process of reincarnation in XI. It would be too difficult to increase in numbers if one dies every time another is born.
