Well they released the Behemoth armor for the chocobo this way (all gray) - and no one complainedI wonder if they had released a model with no texturing or colors at all (you know, that weird completely grey 3D version) if people would've have gone: "She's so grey! Why did they make her like that!?"
Prolly not, but it's really the same thing. Earlier I mentioned that I thought was hoping they'd make her blue/icy which is clearly their intent. This is just a preview of what's coming. Can't blame people for not knowing about 3D graphics and their creation process though - it's a designer kind of aspect that most people just see the final result of.
It would have helped if Fern told us about the color (no bad feelings though, we love batty), I had no idea what FZbrush was / could do lol.

I dont think the Behemoth armored chocobo was a zbrush model, i think it was post zbrush model(disclaimer: no knowledge to back this up, just an educated guess)

The behemoth chocobo pictures were shown on the in-game engine, inside of a testing environment.
They just use ZBrush to produce a super high-polygon count model, which they then convert into a game model, then texture. The stuff they've shown us today, as stated multiple times in this thread, is not the final version.
