Lol, I'm not sure this thread is capable of being off topic. But I don't read books for their amazing realism. If I wanted to see something as realistic as a stupid unlikable girl getting picked on by other stupid unlikable people, I wouldn't need to buy a book to do that, I could probably just walk into any public school in America (Or any forum online). A book needs to make me CARE about what's happening, and Carrie completely failed at that.
There's a reason Justin Beiber is popular too... I don't know what that reason is, but it doesn't make it a good one.
