Get rid of eorzea time and just use real time

I am completly against the linking it to real time.

I would love to see longer day and night cycles but the 2pm in RL = 2pm in game and so in is a really bad idea. This is a global mmo despite regional servers. I honestly get home at 7/8 est every day of the week. I do not want to play the game which is always night outside weekends.

Give me a 1hr day cycle/1hr night cycle

Actually, I'm one of those scenic shot takers. I've never set out specifically to take pictures, but I do whenever a scene strikes me as particularly pretty. The colour of the grass and sky in La Noscea when the sun was high and there were few clouds was brilliant and striking. Contrasted with the ocean and the grey of the rocks when I was fishing on the cliffs, it made for some beautiful pictures. Ul'dah was practically designed to be visually pleasing during daytime; the oranges of the landscape and the deep blue of the sky is a really common colour contrast.

Nighttime was equally pretty. La Noscea at night (both before and after the lighting change) was always pretty, and I loved sitting on the cliffs south of Bald Knoll watching the great lighthouse in Limsa, or the way the fires in every camp would light up a small group huddled around it, light flickering peacefully.

While good pictures need planning, all my best shots were taken on a whim, when something magical clicked and I wanted to save the moment. If time was locked and I could only log in during the night, I'd miss a lot of amazing pictures.

This is totally subjective. Most of the people complaining about the idea wouldn't even notice it was in place if we didn't already have Eorzea time. I guarantee you if it was like this from the beginning, nobody would complain. Nobody complains about it in any of the other games that have it.

Even if it had been like that from the beginning I would complain. I hated it when I played WoW and I would hate it in FFXIV. I also remember a lot of people who played WoW at the same time as me hated the fact that it was always night when we were on.

I like seeing the night atmosphere in zones, but not as much as I enjoy a sunny day! Some of us work really hard and don't get to enjoy the daytime. Then you're gonna take the beautiful daytime weather out of the game because it's synced to real-time?

Beyond that, I don't know ANYONE that 24/7/365 could NEVER log in at a different time of day ever for any reason.

Ability to log in at a given time and the desirability to do so are two different things entirely.

Same thing goes for that sure, people could play the game fine only seeing day or night and not the other, but it doesn't mean they want to.

I don't think I'll like this. If they sync Eorzea time to real time I'll be playing during the night on weekdays. I'll have to change to keeper of the moon.

Most scenic shot takers could find some time out of their life to log in in the other part of the day to take some shots- its not something that requires hours and hours to do.

But apparently, most everybody that has only played FFXI or FFXIV apparently would not like this. I'm honestly amazed at how much hate there is on this. Other games have it and nobody complains. I don't understand it.

Cause this Idea is dumb and you just ignore every argument against it.

I know right? I'd LOL about this thread. It would only work if you change your computer's time system or being stuck with server's time.

1 hour earth time = 1 day game time is still better though.
