Thy will probably have a free transfer every 6 months or a year, and paid for sooner but still a limit. It is RMTS you have to worry about but hopefully the changes in economy will nip them as well.

Also i don't think we going to have the same world names i have a feeling they going to change it make no sense to keep the old one to mix people up start new with new world name and just give put what part of the world they are in,.

I think it should be inexpensive, say $10-15, as well as have a substantial timer on it, say 30-90 days before you can transfer again, This would stop thoughtless server hopping, and dissuade abuse, while at the same time, being affordable and easily used by legitimate users.
10~15 bucks
First-time Transfer: $10 fee, 7-day waiting period to transfer, and then 6-month cool-down before you are eligible to transfer again.
Second transfer and beyond: $30 fee, 14-day waiting period, and 9-month cool-down.
I think that would keep it from being abused.
Previously have earlier in the thread. But to summarize: it ruins server community when you allow people to hop servers for a small fee. Over a given amount of time you will recognize fewer and fewer people you use to play with, it also causes unhealthy fluxes in a server's population. We see this in other games like WoW. Servers become ghost towns, and the lower the population gets the more incentive there is for larger guilds to transfer all together.
edit: And the logic that it will not effect server population because they can/will lock transfers off certain servers when they get too low. It would work and all but when a company sees how much extra money they are making from these transfers, they simply don't say no. This is why it is just better to not have transfers at all a month or so after official launch.

599.99 US dorra.
There is no reason for them to go and change the names of 1.0 worlds when transferring to 2.0 when they are adding about 20 more worlds.
If our character data wasn't being ported over, sure, it wouldn't really matter. But its just going to cause confusion for us and themselves to change the world names for no reason.
I'm pretty sure i'm still going to be on Excalibur in 2.0

You are forgetting one very important aspect of server transfers. Sometimes you want to play with different people, who are on other servers.Previously have earlier in the thread. And that just nullifies any objections or reasons why transfers are bad. People want to move, a smart company will provide a way.
