In general it's been about 10 people against it posting actively.
Wait... what? So making people vote with threats will create a more 'authentic' vote result? I'd love to know the situation where this logic produced a sound result.Simple...
Make a Poll, "With, Against, Don't Care (not gonna get married)", BUT
Those who choose to disagree with same sex marriage, will only be able to marry to different sex gender in game.
and those who choose to agree with same sex marriage, will only be able to marry same sex gender in game.
And those who choose "Don't Care", will not be able to get married at all in game.
(Every one who vote is linked with his FFXIV account, so it is easy to know who picked what and implement it in the game) lol.
Then see how many people will actually want same sex marriage... you would be surprised the people who liked the "Same sex marriage" post will disappear because they don't really want to marry same sex in game and choose to like the post just because they don't really care. (But when they will be forced to same sex marriage, then they will care) lol..
Then take the opposite-sex vs same-sex numbers and see who win.
It might be harsh, but it is the truth.
"Say, do you want to vote to support the Women's Rights Movement? The only catch is that you'll have to become a woman yourself if you vote 'yes.' I hope this won't influence your decision in any way..."
I actually find it far more likely that people who voted 'I don't want same sex marriage' could just not want ANY marriage in the game, regardless of what is entailed. I find that more likely than people voting in favor JUST FER TEH LULZ, A-HERP-DERP!(This post is not about people wanting to support the implementation of the system or not, but more of to show how many people really that don't care about same-sex, but chose same-sex just to have some laughs)

/sarcasm off
Wait a minute... is he really claiming that people who didn't want SSM voted for SSM to be put into the game... just for s***s and giggles? Really?Wait... what? So making people vote with threats will create a more 'authentic' vote result? I'd love to know the situation where this logic produced a sound result.

I'm... I'm hoping that I just read that wrong, and that there's not really that much idiocy in the world. Because if it is, I will have lost faith in humanity just that much more. Please, someone tell me that's not what SedoSan is implying and that I got it wrong. Please.
I find it far more interesting that people are actually responding to such a colossal failure of an internet troll.
It's astonishing...
I mean, really? The only thing I could possibly get from his posts is that he thinks no one should ever vote for something they won't personally be forced into doing themselves. At best he's a troll, like at the very best possible outcome he isn't some sociopath completely incapable of comprehending why people would support someone else's right to marry who they want (in the game). Because every rational person in the world knows that (neither in game nor irl) allowing gay marriage would not, I repeat, NOT force anyone to marry someone they didn't want to marry.

Same sex Marriage or Different races should be able to be bound by marriage in a role-playing game this isn't a big issue & We should be able to marry same gender or opposite gender.
We should also be able to marry multiple characters as well.
As a straight guy who plays as a female character, I totally support same sex unions, both in and out of game.
I am, however, against marriage of any kind.
Civil unions, lifetime commitments, promise rings...all good things. But the concept of "marriage" is archaic and outdated. Its initial purpose was to discourage interracial breeding, and mostly to give men yet another method of controlling their women lest they start thinking for themselves.
EDIT: And that right there is how SE can get around the "controversy" factor. Call it something other than marriage, but have it be essentially the same thing.
After all, I don't think same sex couples want to be married so much for the sake of saying they're married. They just want their commitments to each other recognized by the government so they can enjoy the same civil benefits that married couples have.
Holy crap, I just solved the whole "gay marriage" conundrum! Just use a different word besides "marriage"! VOTE EEKIKI FOR PRESIDENT.

Reminder: Before you attack haters here and get the thread locked, please read carefully...
If you see someone throws a troll post here. Please don't reply it, just report it and put someone on your ignore list. Mods will take care of it.Hello,
As some of you know, we recently locked another thread dealing with issues very similar to this one due to the fact that it degenerated into non-constructive arguments and personal attacks. I, along with other moderators, have been looking at this thread and understand what a very sensitive topic this is. Given that fact, it is only natural for people's opinions and feelings to be very intense. Unfortunately when this causes the discussion to degenerate into personal attacks, condemnations of others, and insults, we have no choice but to lock the thread.
I know what a very important topic this is for many of you and would like to keep this thread open for as long as people feel the need to discuss this topic. I must ask though, that you refrain from descending into personal attacks and insults on one another and keep the discussion on-topic while respecting other users' feelings, experiences, beliefs, and opinions.
I appreciate your cooperation and understanding,
-Verytus
Have a good day/night! ^^
I support gay sex marriage.
How was this one never locked?
That's rather impressive.
