I wouldn't think so... I remember there was one hamlet where everyone that were going to start hamlet suddenly had lag right before it began and almost everyone assumed it was their fault and apologized to the party...

Would be nice to have forum communities and shells organize themselves to decide what server they'll move to when 2.0 launches, just like they did when 1.0 launched.

No no, I don't mean this forum. When 1.0 launched, Killing Ifrit, Allakhazam, FFXIV Core, Eorzeapedia, the continent of Europe, and the RP Community organized themselves in such a way that they chose where they would be. The KI people chose one server, the alla people chose another, the FFXIV Core guys chose one, the Eorzeapedia guys did as well, and so on.

I can't wait to get away from the overwhelming amount of JP players on my server. As my region will not have a server, I will be following friends to a US-based one. And there I will build my empire and wrap the world around my finger by whispering sweet nothings into the commoner's ears while giving them a gentle touch.

Depends on the game, in traditional mmorpgs, fps, and action games I'd say lag is the far more common excuse. Blaming others pops up far more frequently in rts and moba games.

You get a free server transfer (Maybe not at launch, but not too far off after iirc from what's being said) but we do get one! So if you do feel like you want to move, you can without having to start from scratch

Lag is usually the most common excuse that some people use whenever something goes wrong. In any game.

An excuse being common doesn't mean it's not ever valid.

What I mean by saying that though, is that even without lag, there will still be people that cry about it like in, you know, any other online game.
