i believe it but seem there a few hardcore players that dont. sorry but i hell don't want to sit around 24hours for a mob to pop but if there at least 1-3hours random time to make them more rare would help. I don't want to sit 3-6hours for a raid -.- sick of that in wow and FFXI.

Am not a hardcore player or a casual i play 10+hours doing noting sometime i play 10+hours level up or 10+hours chilling and talking. i want something fun and somewhat hard.

if they can make hardcore content that isn't a time sink I'm all for hardcore content. I don't want things handed to me. I just don't want to spend hours to do one thing. I'm willing to compromise.

o.o there a light of hope yes this is what i want also i want to work for something and not get it handed to me i don't want a big time sink but at least something that would take 30-1hour + to do to enjoy it. doing the same thing over and over every 30mins i think even the casual players would get bored of it.

Casual gamers need a reason not to go back to WoW/Rift/F2PMMOXYZ. The number one reason why people stay long-term in MMOs is because of their attachment or "obligation" to play with people, and if a game has no people, then no one will stay.

On the topic of the fast NM repop, I agree it's too fast at current but it is also probably tuned with more full server populations in mind (also, this game has no instanced dungeons/bosses to clear, which means casual linkshells may never see alot of the NM content if NMs had longer respawn timers on full servers). I'm sure it will be adjusted with time.

Honestly, I think there should be NM encounters designed for several skill levels, and possibly have special items/guild leves to unlock harder modes and variations of bosses (except not introduce it as a "flat" progression system for every encounter like WoW did).

Fact is that SE don't want to make another FF11 clone, they don't want to cater to the hardcore players so you are clearly SOL.

As for FF11 taking more skill to level thats complete BS, I had 2 jobs at 75 (yea i quit a long time ago) it wasn't skill that got me to 75 it was time, time standing around doing nothing in Jeuno/Whitegate with my LFP flag up. (yea those times were shit hot awesome!!)

I have some awesome memories of playing 11, CoP was awesome, but I don't want to go back to that kind of time sink again and its pretty clear the majority don't either that is why you are the minority on these forums even in a game that only has 30k players (I duno if thats accurate, I see it thrown around alot)
When ever they add harder stuff everyone is just going to complain. You can't make everyone happy. The only option is balance.

I don't know how many times I've said this but a 21-24 hour NM doesn't mean you sit around for 24 hours. It means it can pop 21 to 24 hours after it's killed so 3 hours max.

Like I said before, it seems like the main criticism from self-identified "hardcore" players is that combat is easy. Too easy.

    I agree with that.

What I don't agree with is blaming the ease of combat on SE appealing to "casual" players. It's scapegoating. The fact that combat right now is stupid easy is not to appeal to casuals. It's simply because combat is just frelled right now. The development team is working on it.

If they succeed, only time will tell.

Combat is only part of the problem. I just watched a LS wipe to Uraeus so obviously it's still hard for some people.

Honestly there shouldn't be this division between "hardcore" "casual" w/e... There should be content no matter how much time you have to play. The problem is everything thing is easy right now. From leveling to killing NMs. Nothing requires much of any thought at all, just time but far less time than FFXI.

IMO Time spent is a measurement of dedication, rather than a measurement of difficulty or skill.

Time spent subscribed or playing as a whole maybe, but not time spent waiting for a single NM pop. That just means you've got more time to sit around doing nothing. I'm sure I'm not the only one going to college and working, on most week nights I've only got 4 hours at the most to play. I'd rather not spend 3 of those waiting around for an NM pop only to either not get the drop or not get the claim.

I'm fine with NM spawns that are a bit longer, but not this once a day 3 hr window crap.

So camp the NMs that have a 3-5 minute spawn window and let the people who have more time on their hands camp the other NMs, or is there no compromise?
