Well if we are theory crafting i think one of the things we should take notice of is unlike other aethertye the earth is integrating into it almost absorbing it the exact opposite of Mor Dhona where it is a depletion of life instead of give root to it. So this could be Mor Dhona after a huge influx of aether. But as mentioned before the sword/key is gone but that might be due to the imprisoning summoning them back again which is why it looks like something was ripped out. This though doesn't explain why the one chained aethertye was also orange unless it is in this same area.
could be where mega-flare hit and a flash of aether flowed out and into the world changing everything around it and the left over aether took a rock form to heal the hole in the earth afterward?
