Lol all that link posts is that u've been trolling about black screens possibilities for the PS2 client of FFXI for quite some time now. It's a simple work around, and game crashes are common for even current gen games.

The numbers for dropping support are based on the users. If it was truly a system limitation they wouldn't be bringin it out for PS2 in JP. They never even brought FFXI out for PS2 in EU. The PS2 had continued support through Wings of the Godess (including all the Walk of Echoes), the add-on trilogy, Abyssea, and the Voidwatch/Legion content. The only reason none of that was released as a stand-alone disc-based expansion was because SE never planned on putting out another disc-based expansion for the game until they changed their mind last year. Cause honestly SE didn't think that FFXI was going to remain serviced longer than 8 years.

Real bugs in FFXI were like how people playing on Xbox360 couldn't complete a single Besieged for quite some time. And the only game-breaking errors I ever noticed in FFXi was when it wasn't Vista compatible if people had to upgrade to Vista.

There have never been, and will never be, as many PS3 users as there were PS2 users. "The numbers" for PS3 will never be as good as they were for PS2 at any point in its history.

I have said nothing about "system limitations."

They never even brought FFXI out for PS2 in EU.
So that's the metric? "Don't buy into platforms that aren't fully supported from the beginning?" Well, 1.0 was never brought out for the PS3 anywhere, so why should a player get on board (months from) now?

You don't play FFXI on PS2, do you? PS2 players pretty much can't do anything that involves a cutscene, because they'll get stuck at a black screen instead.

And as for the Xbox 360 Besieged/Campaign issues, that was never resolved. The only "resolution" was Besieged becoming much shorter and less popular. That's just another example console players being treated as second-class citizens in S-E MMO's.

Actually I still play on PS2 almost daily and I only hit the black screen on 1 cutscene ever. Andthat's not true for the 360 either, because the original problem was a porting error that would crash the XBox 360 AFTER the combat had completed.

That may be true, but the number of online and MMO capable PS3 users will always exceed the number of PS2 users that played online and had the HDD to play FFXI.
