If you're high level enough to fight fates I don't think it would take 15 minutes... maybe 10 minutes tops... plus if a friend invites you to beat a fate, the party can wait for you or always start the battle and you'll still be able to make it in time to fight and possibly get the spoils...

What if high end fates happens in 4 completely seperate areas with differrnt respawns window? You'd spend 2hr jjust to choco back and forth between areas, also ppl wwould prefer to stand in city hub to get FATE announcement from other players. Do you think anyone would enjoy mordhona-uldah-garlean-uldah-somewheresnowy-uldah trip?

A much more limited teleport system could be used - like mage teleports in FFXI (though it doesnt have to relate to players or a particular class).

However, I would prefer that content in the area be available rather then doing a teleport rink that sounds more boring that just waiting a few minutes for the next session of whatever is coming.

I don't think mage teleports would be the answer to preserve some sort of significance in travel. With how easy it is level everything and to switch jobs on the fly in XIV, it would effectively be the same thing as just being able to teleport for free.

Mage teleportation felt out of date even during FFXI's prime.

What I think SE should do is make lore stones and have interesting information on the area and people in it, along with an achievement in finding them all.

All of FFXI felt out of date, and I liked FFXI lol

That said certain ideas dont "update", its very rpg to have mages teleport and not some magic hodoo voodo like FFXIV.

I'm always amazed at how I can teleport across the world at level 1, I'm always wondering why I havent made anima cannons and swords and other abilities (even the lore to try and explain anima feels very sketchy to me - I think I could have gone with it lore wise if it was some super uber transportation system you earned in 2 years of playing the game that only 10% of the population had).

Also starlord, i'd suggest playing something like gw2 to grasp what dynamic event is about, to make the world seems alive, events dont just rrandomly happens, its a series of chain events.

Example, how does a raid to ixalis HQ by twin adder armies happens?
It might starts with gathering supplies for the armies in 2 different hamlet, which means 2 FATe is happening at same time.

It will starts 3 mini FATE in 3 different areas in black shroud to overtake outposts. This means there will be 3 FATE tthat will eends at seperate time, the longer each one took, the longer main HQ raid will happens. This travelling time will each adds uup to the delay.

After outposts, you would need to clear and escort each commander from 3 outposts to ixali HQ, then inside the HQ you might nneed to ssecure 2 differrnt parts of ixxali HQ to raise your banner before everyone come together tto beat last boss

this chain events effect one another and you cant have static starttime because a second slower somewhere, you are slowing down everyone else
    .
I would think it would be much more epic if you were taken with the armies and plans.

After you get to a base camp and you gather in the surrounding areas you move out.

Rather then "teleporting" and arbitrating the world to seconds, having to ride in trains and airships and caravans with the npc soliders as you move to march onto the gates of the beastmen.

If that's the case, they should do a " Do you wish to teleport here now?" when you finished the First FATE and so on. I agree there in situations like that there should be an insta teleport to that area, " Only if you already seen the place at least once". But Teleports outside of Major Multi-Area Events, should be dumbbed down and not used so frequently as people did in 1.0.

As Long as there's a Balance between all the Transportations, to where 1 isn't as obsolete as the next, Then i'm cool with whatever teleport ideas they have.
