And you want to depricate content as soon as you are done with it.
Like I said in the last post of page 4 - its people who like hub games and people who like actual worlds.
Obviously you are a hub player.
Actually no. I use the teleport only when i need to, otherwise I just ride, walk, or such. In Skyrim I installed a mod that changes the carriage so that it goes from city to city by actually traveling there with you on top instead of teleporting.
I just don't feel the need to restrict everyone else over my personal wishful thinking.
Skyrim is a) freaking huge b) seamless and c) and most importantly single player (so there is no standard of someone "else" cheating, only you)Actually no. Often what games that have fast travel do is make each zone to fast travel quite large to try and make the world not feel small (and pass time in single player games). But as you go on it becomes a disjointed world with no respect to boundaries and natural sense of travel. No matter how large the zones are having free travel WILL disjoint the world to at least some peoples opinions (mine included obviously)- that is less enjoyable, imo.
As long with being expected by other players to do the most efficient thing always. Like having two builds one is really fun and one is super powerful - if you do any serious content I guarantee you that people will require you to be the later or they wont let you come.
You can't have a proper world and disjoint it. Neither am I saying everyone should painfully trudge through 9 zones to get anywhere, certainly a balance but NO balance exists with teleport systems both in 1.0 and obviously what looks like to be in 2.0.

Somethings are meant to be restricted for a reason. If Teleportation is what "people" will use because that's how the game is designed.. then most likely everyone will use it, and it could turn out alot of people really just wanted to just do exactly the opposite.. but since Teleportation is the " Easy" way to get to a place, everyone will most likely use it over any other transportation.Actually no. I feel Teleportation should be in the game in a " Give money to NPC" format or WHM Spell. Not because I like FFXI so it should be in there no, I just feel it had a good Balance in FFXI, that it made all modes of Transportation accessible in the game and not feel like they were useless in the game.
Teleportation the way it is now for mot people, Does Mentally "Restrict" them from using other Transportation.

I actually thought they did pretty good job on the world and its connections (I played pre flying mounts).
In general I felt the world to be quite connected and in place, even the flight networks (anima system for WoW) took some time - it was all quick but not instant. A balance between FFXI and FFXIV I would say.
I've read they added a lot of instant teleport things since then but in general still more traveling done then in FFXIV's and GW's. (I only played beta of GW2, but I did play GW1)
I did play Wow (Up to Level 50), I really didn't like the game Personally, but the way you went around the world was one of the things I liked about the game. I agree with youDid you play WoW?

I didn't like WoW method of getting around the world, however it was a lot better then FFXI. In pre flying mounts in WoW you can choose a flight path to a place you have already been to. However, you have to wait to get there and I usually just end up going afk. Personally I rather be playing the game than watching the same scenery over and over again.
Still when Blizzard added flying mounts you still had to reach near max level to use them so you got to experience the world on the ground through quests.
I played GW2 and I like that method of getting around the world, which is pretty much the same as FFXIV, however you pay with currency.
You already have the option of walking everywhere, however you prefer to force your system on everyone even though some people don't like playing that way.
