Yes, we do get Priority, but that does not mean all of Legacy Players. Eligible means a chance to get in, with saying "All legacy account holders qualify as testers in Phase 1" denote that it still be by selection. :<

Unless some Rep can come here and say it for the idiots like me "Yes, All Legacy will be able to join Phase 1 beta" i will be happy.

They need to explain more.

Is getting more confusing, but i read Eligible as only as a Chance to get in, not 100%-proof that i will be getting it.

Yes I understand that, but with 5-10 world:

If 5 worlds and they stick in at least 2k players that's 10k people
If 10 Worlds and they stick at least 2k players that's 20k people

It really depends on:

- Amount of Legacy Players ( It's an unknown number, but I still think it's a high number *40k*)
- How many worlds there's going to be ( 5-10)
- How many Players they plan to put in each server

So If there's 10 worlds at 2k a Server Half the people will get in ( and assume it will Constantly grow until ALL Legacy Members are in).

If they 5k a Server It's very Possible all of us can get in.

But enough of Math, I'm just happy Legacy gets Priority, I only have to worry about other Legacy members .

Well, I guess a clarification would be nice.

I read page 9 (details on Phase 1) and inferred that all legacy flagged accounts will be able to log in and download/beta test (and they won't even have to send us emails). Perhaps I read too much into that, now.

Hopefully someone will come along and confirm just what "All Legacy status holders qualify as testers in phase 1" exactly means.

- All Legacy status holders qualify as testers in phase 1. ( to me this reads Only Legacy players Qualify in phase 1, and maybe some other people after "All" Legacy members are in)

- All FFXIV service account holders qualify as testers in phase 3. ( To me this reads, All people with a FFXIV Account *Includes actives and inactives* will qualify as Beta Testers ( but not everyone will get in though but alot will)

I sent a request for clarification on what that "qualify" means to Square Enix via the site I work for. Hopefully they'll respond and put people at ease, even if with the majority of the staff on vacation, I wouldn't count on a quick response too much.

This without counting the fact that the rumor gave july as already decided and set in stone, which makes the rumor false, and those that supported it like it was the bible wrong. Pretty simple concept, really.

This part confuses me a little, we're gonna get to keep our 1.0 characters. Does this refer to the ones created within Beta?

I'm pretty sure what this means it will work similar to how our characters worked after the "final save" in 1.0- except backwards.

We'll be able to play our 1.0 character data in phase 3, but all the progress leveling we've done specifically in phase 3 (duration: 1–3) weeks will be erased going into the start of phase 4. Meaning- the start of phase 4 we will be starting with the same character data that our characters had at the beginning of phase 3 and the end of the final save in FFXIV 1.0.

Why are people debating what the word "qualify" means? The text clearly states all legacy account holders will qualify as testers for phase 1 of the beta test. To qualify means you are in. To be eligible for something means you can be in.

Let's look at something that may make more sense.

England are eligible to participate in the 2014 World Cup. They enter a qualifying round (beta selection) and upon finishing first or second in the group they have then qualified (in) for the World Cup. If they finish third or fourth they have not qualified (unselected). Brazil qualify for the tournament as hosts without a qualifying round (legacy).

So back to ARR road map, the text states we have qualified for phase 1. If there is a selection then we are eligible to participate and have not yet qualified. This doesn't rule out a translation error but we can only go off what's there.

That is what I lean towards too, but the word *is* a bit obscure. Better be safe and ask for a clarification than see people disappointed if the phase come and don't get the invite.
