And then it was like:

- All Legacy status holders qualify as testers in phase 1. ( to me this reads Only Legacy players Qualify in phase 1, and maybe some other people after "All" Legacy members are in)

- All FFXIV service account holders qualify as testers in phase 3. ( To me this reads, All people with a FFXIV Account *Includes actives and inactives* will qualify as Beta Testers ( but not everyone will get in though but alot will)

And notice they put Legacy on top both times, To me It's a stronger indicator that we get Priority over Non-Legacy.

That's just me though :P.

Yes, we do get Priority, but that does not mean all of Legacy Players. Eligible means a chance to get in, with saying "All legacy account holders qualify as testers in Phase 1" denote that it still be by selection. :<

Unless some Rep can come here and say it for the idiots like me "Yes, All Legacy will be able to join Phase 1 beta" i will be happy.

They need to explain more.

Yes I understand that, but with 5-10 world:

If 5 worlds and they stick in at least 2k players that's 10k people
If 10 Worlds and they stick at least 2k players that's 20k people

It really depends on:

- Amount of Legacy Players ( It's an unknown number, but I still think it's a high number *40k*)
- How many worlds there's going to be ( 5-10)
- How many Players they plan to put in each server

So If there's 10 worlds at 2k a Server Half the people will get in ( and assume it will Constantly grow until ALL Legacy Members are in).

If they 5k a Server It's very Possible all of us can get in.

But enough of Math, I'm just happy Legacy gets Priority, I only have to worry about other Legacy members .

2k people a server and even 5k people a server is EXTREMELY low. That wouldn't even get near simulating official service conditions making the "stress testing" completely moot.

Concurrent players and total players are very different things, and in MMORPGs it's very rare than more than 10-20% of a server's active population is online concurrently at any given time.

I sent a request for clarification on what that "qualify" means to Square Enix via the site I work for. Hopefully they'll respond and put people at ease, even if with the majority of the staff on vacation, I wouldn't count on a quick response too much.

Eh, funny thing, not believing to a rumor that came out of nowhere which didn't provide any source whatsoever, reliable or not, while judging trustworthy something Square Enix itself says. What has the world come to...

This without counting the fact that the rumor gave july as already decided and set in stone, which makes the rumor false, and those that supported it like it was the bible wrong. Pretty simple concept, really.

Please read everything. No matter what you status level is you must apply to be a tester. This begins in January. Only those who apply will be eligible for Phases 1-3. Only those who apply are prioritized for selection. They will start by selecting Legacy holders who apply. As Phases 1 and 2 are for JP servers only I suspect that there will be a hidden priority for JP players over other regions. Just because you fill all the requirements doesn't necessarily mean you will be selected. It all depends on how many people SE feels it needs to properly conduct its tests.

Edit: I mean why bother put "Legacy Status Holders" if they didn't have Priority? if they didn't, mine as well just say " FFXIV Account holders" period and left it at that. Saying something like " Legacy Status Holders and then Non-Legacy status get in... Shrugs

So does that mean Non-Legacy members Qualify for "Phase 1"? If they did they would have put it there and not leave it out.
