Nonconsensual PvP...? Being suddenly transported and fighting alongside a mob? Random spell learning?

No thank you. I understand that they're trying something new, but I don't see any of those things you mentioned as fun.

I understand this is a niche game and won't be looked at in the same favor by everyone. It's not everyones cup of tea and that's what I love because I generally end up disliking MMO's that try to cater to everyone because they fall short and compromise mystery and danger in the world.. It seems that you take issue with the innovation system. It basically allows the players to propagate (or not) powerful spells. You can choose to create an underground mage society that's intent is to keep these spells from the rest of the world. It creates incentive for people to hunt down these players and 'interrogate' them when they're unconscious in order to gain the knowledge they know. It's all run by the players and what they choose to do. I think you might want to read on and further grasp more about the game before coming to any conclusions about a particular system. And if you still don't have a good feeling about it, that's okay too. To me, this is a godsend.

I'm glad you think so. I know many people are looking for exactly this kind of thing and it hasn't been done on this scale yet so it's something very exciting to people like us. I've wanted a true sandbox game like this since ultima online.

Like I said before, frustration is a deal-breaker for me. I'm not interested in playing a game that's even more dependent on RNG than FFXIV is. This also offers loads of opportunities for jerks to rub people's face in their egos for the heck of it.

You guys come back and let me know how that works out.

I personally dislike stream-lined simple experiences that current MMO's bring to the table. Everyone is brought down to equal footing and every system put in place is designed to be 100% fair for all and there's no more mystery to the world you're experiencing. It feels like you're in an arcade or something, not a breathing world. It's not really an RPG anymore. At least not what RPG's used to be. And I think they were much better before. Ultima Online is still unchallenged as far as the kind of deep experience you'd get from that kind of game.

But maybe you love the current state of MMO's and you want more of that kind of thing. That's fine. I definitely want something else.

only thing that has me worried actually is the perma death, i like growing my character. everything sounded great till i really read that more thourougly. i want to be able to grow my character for 5years and not restart other wise it just feels like a shooter. there is a reason i don't play beta's. i can't save my shit and i hate repeating myself lmao. and lol i know ffxi ..love it. but long as it's progression and gear. all good. restarting from scratch is like rerolling a new toon. not fun.

    I think perma-death is a feature ^____^

Have you ever tried it, or are you assuming what you think it's like? Because those are two different things. No, it's not like an FPS. You'll learn how to survive and you'll be cautious. You won't restart every other day if that's what you're picturing. If you did, it would mean you're probably someone that can't learn from their mistakes.

I want perma-death because I want there to be meaning to the world. Picture what would happen if no one was afraid to die. Settlement wars would boil down to people zerging and running around hoping they kill someone, then respawning to go and do it all over again. Boring. You'll have to make good friends and always stick together. Without perma-death it would turn into a big PvP arena and that's not good. I mean, if you want a pvp arena it's good. But perma-death puts a huge halt to that. People will be afraid.

yeah diablo 3, dying just pissed me off really badly. lol. still not sure how long it would take for an average person to die but i take it your still basically re rolling a toon over and over ..yeah you can pick different classes when you die but this is a total no thanks. i played ffxi for over 750+days of gameplay, i'm all about progression and losing it would just piss me off. it says eventually no matter what death will happen, i can't bare to repeat the basics again for a class i like, less i'm not seeing something from it.

dang 750days = 18000hours ...fuk i played way too much.

Fair enough. But I think what you're doing is picturing what your idea of an MMO would be with perma-death. Like thinking in your head "ffxi with perma-death? I can't do that" That's not accurate. It's a different game altogether in every way. Read on if you want to find out more. Good day all, I'm not interested in convincing anyone of anything. If the game rings with you great if not that's okay. Just don't judge until you see the full picture because it may end up being exactly the kind of experience you want.

I remember being against perma-death in games. Now I sometimes prefer it, if it makes sense for the kind of game. You might change your mind too.

im dreaming to See MH:Frontier coming out in N.A but capcom is just like sega about Online game. the market for MH in NA/EU is just to small for capcom to put some effort and money into it.But im like you. IF MH:Frontier was to coming out here, i would drop any games i have for this one.I trully think if MH:Frontier be realse on PC and Xbox-360 in NA and EU it could have wrok. but not in the mind of Capcom.

Still theres MH:3 Ultimate coming out in 2013 but the major problem for me about this game.
    1- I'll need to buy a Wii-U
2- It's just an expansion game of MH:tri, whos in my miind the worst of all MH.
3-Community on Wii is just to small and 75% of the players dont understand how to really play MH.

Me and my friends used to kill Devils Jho in about 3-4 Minutes and Alatreon in 4-5 when other takes 15-20 minutes :/
