I'll give you a different perspective: I never enjoyed crafting in past games. I did a bit of crafting in every game I played, but it never felt fun. It was boring, repetitive, sometimes necessary, but over all another grind I wasn't interested in.
why do people care so much about what others do?
and why do you feel the need to divide yourself away from others, calling yourself pro, and dismissing the amateurs?
amateurs are nice people too, and fun to chat/play with, so why the hell does it matter if they can craft and gather too?
it's a fun game, you shouldn't be entitled to some content, just so you can feel special.
you can show off your trophies in the form of Bahamut gear or whatever. Crafting should be the poor mans option to gear up a bit if they cant raid for whatever reason.
