If they were to change it to overtime tp drain, then the cooldown should be relaxed pretty good on it. I don't should make you go any slower if it drains overtime rather than all at once.

As for battle situations...... The only classes that would be able to make perfect use of sprint is mages. They dont make nearly as much use of TP as a DoW, or use it at all, so it will almost always be at 1000 for them, and they dont have to worry about being at 0 any time during the fight if they accidently use it. Making it a drain over time would also help out the TP using classes, especially when it comes to moving from one spot to another more quickly. So it is also a balance issue, and can become a big PVP battle complaint because you will have mages sprinting everywhere with no penalty, unless the sprint ability is just not avaliable to mages. But looking at the footage again, it is avaliable to them.

The 3rd poster in the forums (whos idea was actually the same but didn't get attacked :/) has the best plan of using shift or an L3/R3 button on the gamepad to sprint with TP over time drain.

..............But I wonder if they already thought of all of that :/

Okay I am playing SWTOR now since I have yet to actually get into alpha and its not the same... on SWTOR you turn it on and it is always on while your are not engaged in combat. As far as I can see on ARR looks like its something you use and it only last like 10-15 secs? then ends. so already its a little different.

However I would like to see it mapped to L3 on a controller, or be able to map it to a key, because I too agree that it needs no place on the action bar.

... also making auto activate don't work to me as well because sometimes I man not want to move fast in town or hanging out with friends in game. It should function mostly as a "Oh sh*t!, FLEE!" type of thing.

This. Actually play the alpha before you go off trying to change things <.<

The fact is, you are too stupid to look at this with a broad enough perspective to see the issues, because you're only looking at it from one perspective. I very rarely want to call someone stupid, but you are belligerent enough to get it out of me. I set out in my original post the reasons it was inconvenient to ME, and a few others agreed. Just because you play different (i.e. don't plan on using this ability) does not mean that it is inconvenient to use repetitively. You are very small minded because you can't see the benefit in going into excruciating detail on the small things to make sure the bigger picture is the best it can be. Why do you think this company is not successful?

I like how you said the battle system and gear sets are much more worthy of feedback. That's just an example of you trying to prioritize a discussion, in a thread about the discussion of something else. The fact is, the small things are easier to get right. There's room for discussion about all aspects of the game here. There's no need for you to waste our time telling us what's worth talking about and what's not.
Lovely post as always Neptune. Really showing some character. Stay classy.

Having it toggle with a steady drain would make it possible to activate feasibly during combat as a means to increase mobility. That'd throw battle balance into a frenzy, not to mention making the Sprint ability something to be used in a way that is not its intention.

You can't understand something so simple, yet you call me stupid.

P.S: Having access to Alpha doesn't mean one necessarily stops posting here. Worth mentioning. Just a thought.

I know man!! People judging things based on videos especially when said videos say the content will probably be changed for beta haha

It's somewhat frustrating not being able to uh..say more things about these topics..except that ppl really should play the alpha before making these kinds of threads >.<

I can't believe this forum is still infested with people who think like this. Was 1.0 not enough for you? Was yoshi-p saying this behavior is stupid not enough for you?

You should never assume that something will be changed. You have to give feedback. That's the fucking purpose of the forums. It's not useless. This is gameplay feedback too. The functionality of sprint and the movement systems especially deserve feedback.

You know what's actually useless? people saying "it will probably be changed" or "you just need something to do"

Are you seriously complaining about an ability that let's you run faster..?
There's nothing bad you can say that would make a valid point for this thread.. extra action bar slots, macros or hotkeys options alone male your argument a waste of time & I hope yoshi is ignoring all the retarded threads questioning things in alpha videos that are still under development.

So the very essence of this complaint, according to the OP, is that the Sprint button is a pain because of it's positioning within the action bar. Okay. Apparently to make the most of it Sprint would need to be located within slots 1-5 for ease of use and convenience... Fair enough. I can sort of see where you're coming from.

But at the same time this seems a moot point.

Not only are there more slots than we are previously used to anyway, there are also 3 action bars available onscreen at any given time - if it bothers you, apply Sprint to slots Shift 1-5 or Alt 1-5 - which are no less easier to use with just one hand (although Alt+ is admittedly easier than Ctrl+) and makes your favored 1-5 slots wholly available.

If anything I would actually increase the cooldown on Sprint so as to make its use less repetitive and more strategic, because as people rightly pointed out, if it's pretty much constantly available we may as well just constantly move at that speed without the need for Sprint. Additionally, the TP shouldn't restore whilst Sprint is active - it's pointless that Sprint uses all your TP but a few seconds later, you have 1000 TP back anyway. These changes will make it a more strategic mechanic, such as escaping the wrath of dangerous enemies, rather than a spammy gimmick.

OP: You can just drag&drop it to another bar and set it there in the slot 1 or so. You don't want to use it during or before a fight because it use all your TP and it is not good to start a fight with 100 or 300 TP.

L3 and R3 are already used. Just do it to bar3/slot1 then you can use it like L1+R1+X - R1+Triangle
