Weather and Cycles - Lets do it again

The weather IS going to change once a Free Company summons a Primal to use. After that the weather effect disperses.

Oh meant the seasons to theme of the primals (and which ones are running around currently) - but I didnt know the weather was going to change when you summoned one. I hope its extreme, like heat waves everywhere when Ifrit is summoned. If they add the snow system they could melt the snow in the area :O... would bang my head on the keyboard in utter attention to detail.

Ah man I remember that in FFXI on my old laptop lol. Silly dust on footsteps and raining and my computer is like planes of water coming at me? OH HELL NO -lag-

I'm sure it will be an option to configure, Yoshida really wants as many computers as possible. (But also talks about making it the best looking MMORPG).

I don't want any weather linked to southern california... i love the rain i want a majority of it... southern cali is always hot and windy... 100-110 was the temp up until mid november were just barly seeing any rain now and the heat will be back as soon as 1st week of spring... god i hate california...

Opinions are always legitimate but can I ask why you don't want seasons?

Yeah I want to see more weathers, light pattering and darkening dirt to large incoming storms and glistening rocks from the rain. Seasons I thought would just direct the general patterns so during the season of Ramuh you may have a lot of thunderstorms while during Leviathan's time you might be walking clear sky and be hit by a small monsoon.

i think seasons would take a ton of development and as long as the seasons are represented as zones im ok with that(like snow zone)

Oh yeah, it really could. It depends on if they have shaders that can work on the terrain / non intractable objects and how they are coloring/modeling the flora. Lightning makes a huge "season" feeling. Obviously I have no idea what kind of options they have readily available (which would make a massive difference in develop time).

Still beyond some more weather features, I would love to see shaders for snow/rain on character and on objects being wet like darkening the ground when raining and shiny drippy rocks. Other minor things like changing the animation type on leaves to be droopy in heavy downwards rain and such.

I really want to know if they can add a rain mask so they can make standing under cover actually stop the rain though. That always got me a little more then it should lol. "RAIN GO AWAY, YOU AREN'T ALLOWED HERE".

watch them do something crazy like if you are battling in the rain a gauge starts to fill and when its full you cant see so you have to hit an action to wipe the water from your face,lol.
