    For classes you pretty much wouldnt do anything to the lore. However for (adv. jobs) BLM you'd have to build up a beginning lore and abilities/skills.

    It wouldn't be something you (dev team) could finish quickly. But it would allow jobs shine better/differently.

    I suggested this idea in another thread before - but also said it might be too late for such a change (not enough time).

    I dont see why you think there are lore breaks. Yes BLM relates to THM and it can continue to do so in lore, just like child relates to parent but doesnt have to be the same (real life).

    Rates of leveling would be determined on the system used not everything is plug and play - its a big change I know that.

    They already do. There's no reason to make an immense retcon to the lore of the game and to submit the playerbase to twice as much the grind in order to polish something that is already shining.

    yeah, people would so much be willing to wait longer in order to be able to grind more. I can see that happening.

    BLM doesn't just relate to THM, you become a black mage directly from being a thaumaturge.

    If you just halved the experience necessary to reach 50 in order to balance the double amount of grinding to do, getting one class to 50 would be too fast. If you didn't, you'd have just submitted the whole playerbase to twice as much the grind for the sake of a technicality.

    The current class/job system with linked leveling ensures flexibility. There's no reason to change what is not broken.

    It would require testing. Slowing down ARR release. It worked fine in FFXI I can say that. One of FFXI better features.

    Hardly flexible in what jobs can accomplish every purpose has to be moved to classes which share abilities and jobs just add small nuances.

    Didnt say it was broken, just said I would prefer a system where jobs are recognizable beyond the classes they were derived from.
