The little difference is that you won't risk to get banned if your report about a chocobo outside your window proves false.
I know, and if you havent seen the thread I made about the PS3 Beta, I'd have to say I'm very concerned about this too. In fact, anyone who took the time to fill out the application are passionate enough to get in. Right now, we are over-qualified. :P
