To our right we have crafters angry that the mobs are stealing their equipment sales.

I'm not angry about equipment sales. In my opinion, what makes FFXIV unique is its crafting system, and it totally makes sense. Fighters farm materials that drop from mobs, and crafters make them into finish products. It allows players to work with each other. And now mobs can drop weapons and equipments, it is another way saying that crafting is not necessary. If crafting is not necessary, then what am I doing for the pass 6 months.

I doubt a few NM gear drops will kill the crafters.

It does, Square Enix just screw all the crafters. Today, new NMs can drop equipment. Tomorrow, regular mobs can drop equipments, too. SE is too lazy to create new materials and parts and linking them into finish product. Drop from NWs is the quick and easy solution. Crafters have no new recipts to make and still wearing R30 velveteen Doublet Vest when we are R50. Well done SE, WELL DONE.
