I just meant in the ease of exp/gil, and the horrid rng style drop rates, and the relative ease to get the better types of gear, boring repitition. Things of that nature. In retrospect I can understand why they did it. But standing by gaming concepts that were great in 2002 were not so great in 2012. FFIV/VI, while some of the best in series could not stand up in todays market either as is with just graphic enhancements.

And I disagree about the brutal uphill battle currently in xi, exp/gil are incredibly easy to get, even in book burns you can go 1-99 in a couple days and skill cap in a single day easily, an empy, even dualboxing takes a couple weeks tops if you play daily and you can get top gear in a couple days if the rng doesnt screw you. Even ppl I helped break the first limit break a few weeks ago are running around in gear that would have taken us years to get pre-aby and touting a maats cap and empy weapon. Hell they even nerfed CoP to the point a whm or brd can solo nearly the whole thing and you can do things like open the gates in garlaige by just clicking a ??? near the entrance once. Even the limit breaks up to the 95-99 ones are easily solod since all you have to do is click on ??? anymore. As for farming gil/gear/everything else in the game all you need in xi is bst and ur good to go.
